@SKT looove them, easiest wearing pair I’ve ever owned. Fades coming in slowly but with a really cool vertical character on the thighs.

@jerkules that’s great to hear. Kind of the ideal year round weight imo. Looking forward to restocks to get into a new pair.

I “need” a pair of these to fill that 18 oz hole in my closet and heart.

I’ve spent a while reading through the comments, and I’m sure the answer is in there somewhere but quick and dirty…

Where do these fall breathability wise compared to the 21 oz indigo and something like a 16 oz slubby? I actually find the 16 oz less breathable than the 21 oz. Just trying to figure out if these are something I could realistically wear through the summer if they drop soon.

                    Thanks.

@northsouthdenimguy from what I remember, these should fall “between” the 21 and 16 for breathability. I’ve owned the 18 and 21 but not the 16 so the only thing I can definitively say is that the 18 is better in the summer than the 21 for sure. That’s been my experience anyway. Hope that helps some.

@northsouthdenimguy I own all 3, but don’t wear the 16oz slubs often. I find the 18oz on par or less breathable than the slubs but not by much. They are comfortable to wear in warm weather. I find the 21oz to be too “thick” albeit breathable when temps are up but at that point everything feels too hot when it’s hot out, lol.

i have the same experience as Rox above and would add that the 21's are the first to start to feel uncomfortable if I'm sweating since the yarns seems to hold more sweat/moisture and they start to feel much more humid. The cut absolutely matters though; 666's with stacks will feel hotter in general than a 634 with a cuff that hangs at your ankles.

@pechelman meant to add this about the cut! Fuller cut = more comfortable in temps for sure

I’m just trying to see how long I can ride my 21oz indigo into spring and summer, then step down a bit lighter. I usually wear 13–14oz in the summer, or fatigue/Baker pants, but I was thinking about switching it up this year and trying something a little heavier.

I was kind of hoping someone would say, “Oh my God, 18oz is incredible… it’s so breathable it feels like 13oz.” 🤣

@northsouthdenimguy I mean if you’ve been wearing UHR or XHS all winter it would definitely feel like 14oz!

@northsouthdenimguy the 18oz vintage is honestly a really beautiful denim that offers lots of subtle character that no other IH denim has. It would definitely fill and fit into any gaps you have in your current wardrobe. It has also become my favorite denim. Been wearing a pair for 2.5 yrs pretty consistently & have 4 more pairs of this 18oz in other cuts, lol. I also live in a warm humid climate year round and this denim is my jam! 😀

@wjw I actually jumped on the SExIH 19oz bc they “looked” similar. They’re completely different. The 19oz is noticeably more plushy, stretchy, and textured, very slubby. The 18oz is more flat and crispy when new and the texture is not as loud. The 18oz also feels like it breathes a bit better than the 19oz.

@RoxRocks86 they do totally look similar, from internet pics at least. Thanks for the comparison! I was leaning towards getting the 18 or maybe the SE19, but with the UHR news I jumped on those. Looking at one of the other 2 for my next pair--more of a summer pair.
