yeah, no kidding!  i'm still debating soft v. hard toe - i think i recall you have some pics, i will go back and look at again…

I can post more pics of mine over the weekend. I am afraid that soft toe on the MP would be uncomfortable with my big toes pressed against the leather. Even with the hard toe box I had to send mine back and have them stretched.

Of all the brands of shoes I've worn, Oak St., Alden, White's, Wesco, etc., My Wesco's are my favorite. I ordered my Boss boots about 3 years ago and I've been thrilled with them and Wesco's customer service ever since.

Thanks Chris!  The remodel is coming along very well and, fortunately, I've got a great contractor who rarely needs a boot in his ass.  I'll be posting some more pics soon.

Nice score! Do you plan to treat the natural edges with anything? My boots have natural too and I'm not sure if I should treat them or just leave them.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do either.  If they start getting marked up and ugly, I'll probably treat them with something to make the edges darker.

They just darken up with time so it's moot IMO.

Seawolf, I didn't mean treating them to darken the edges, I was just wondering if the natural leather midsole needed some sort of treatment for protection from the elements.

Not really.  Sole leather is tanned to be pretty weather resistant.  I've seen some recommendations to treat it the same as the rest of the boot, based on the theory that it's leather and needs care, too, but I've never seen the point myself.  I've never had any issues with midsoles failing, not have I seen any that aren't on utterly annihilated boots.

Whenever I'm giving my boot the obernauf treatment, leftoves; brush,cloth,etc. goes to the sole and laces.

Just got off the horn with Wesco and found out they will not be doing the motorcycle show in Toronto in 2014. Would not say why. Very, very disappointing.
