@Mizmazzle looking killer bro!

@Mizmazzle That looks great!

Sorry if this is an ignorant post. I have only recently acquired a pair of 3005s.
For me, these appear to be next level.
Can someone tell me if these are the greatest denim makers in the world and if not why not. And who is the best and why.
Just to be clear, I have many Iron Heart items and I don't consider them in the same tier as Flat Iron. Sorry, if that's not popular.
Many thanks in advance.

@Bridger I think 'greatness' is subjective. For those that want denim with more character, some other Japanese brands like TFH, Samurai and PBJ may fit their needs better, but the draw of IH has always been more uniform and low key types of denim that don't necessarily 'stand out' until you live in them for a while and appreciate how they subtlety develop and feel over time.
If I'm not mistaken, it took Giles many years to convince H to make the Slubby 16oz denim as the boss didn't consider it be 'on brand' for IH. At a glance that denim may look more interesting than other IH denims, but it's not what made the brand famous and contributed towards it's loyal following over the years.

Good points @T4920. I certainly have appreciated the long break in period with IH kit.
I also agree that Haraki-san is not at all trying to position IH with those other brands. You only need to visit the Osaka store location compared to the Minamihorie / Kitahorie neighborhood to really appreciate this.
-
@Bridger interested to see the fit of your 3005s though, and close ups of the denim.
What is it about them that feels so special to you?
I have a Flat Head shirt that I love the denim of, but it doesn't fit anywhere near as nicely as my IH shirts so I don't reach for it too often...
-
@Bridger Interesting - what are the points of difference you see? FWIW I don't think it matters which of IH / TFH / TRM / Samurai / ... is the best. We can select the best bits of each brand.
-
@T4920, I was 634 guy (just about to sell 8 or so pair) but got fat and my thighs don't fit.
I then found the Oni 200, which I love. You talk about feel. Oni feel like you are cheating. They feel like tracky dacks and I love the profile.
Like the Oni 200, I dig the TFH 3005 profile which is very similar, but the denim is not as comfy. However, it's the aesthetic of the jeans that blow my mind. They are like a piece of art. They just exude quality and precision. They are literally hanging on my hotel room wall as I type and I can't stop looking at them [what is wrong with me]

That's a good shout @will6er - thanks to Japan, and a little bit of California, we are spoilt for choice.
-
That's good to know @Kasi as I am yet to break them in.
The 684 could well be the answer. Fingers crossed there will be an OD black in the near future

@Bridger 14oz b/b in 684 has been announced:

Very cool @Tago-Mago, thanks for the heads up - I missed that good news!
-
@Kasi what do you mean by rip easily? Like they don't last as long as IHs?
-
@Kingmob31
Yes for me. Depends on individual how they wear them.
