I had a XXL in this one - I’d wear an XL now.

            Okay calling all vest experts!

I have zero experience with vests other than this carhartt one that I wore for a number of summers, many years ago.

In my opinion the carhartt fits a bit too snug, ideally I’d like some more room ptp but it works…

Hypothetically if I were to get one of these it would be worn with a pocket T in the summer but I’d like to be able to layer it with a light sweatshirt or flannel...

I don’t have a ‘standard’ IHSH size as the 4 IH shirts I own range from XL to XXXXL... 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anyway, based on these measurements and the fit, what would you guys recommend for size?
            Thanks! 🤟🏼

What are you looking for in length? Over under or on your belt? And what’s the front length of the Carhartt?

Front length is 26.5, the 4th picture there, I think I’d be okay if my belt showed but these aren’t straight across right?

I think the XXXL will make you happy, but I think the XXL would “look better” but not give you the functionality you are wanting.

@Brock - I sold mine off two years ago I believe. Loved it, and would love a New one in a size smaller.

Also, that Carhartt vest looks absolutely
Amazing. I have the same one and never wear it. Maybe I need to put some miles on it [emoji6]

They aren't straight across no, so it's about the belt buckle being visible at the bottom of the placket and the belt at the back. Personally I like the vest to sit so that it just covers the belt at the back and the buckle is visible. I wish I could wear it like some guys do, short with the whole belt visible but it looks silly on me.

Judging by measurements I agree with @Appfaff You'd need an XXXL for the flexibility you want, but it's going to be long on you, I think. Like it will most likely cover the buckle on your belt. If you're good with that then cool beans. XXL would be good over just one layer.

@Brock I think the wabash vests are a bit shorter - you may want to look at those - and those are lighter weight for spring/summer and wearing with a tee shirt.  something to think about.

Thanks for the tips guys! I’m still on the fence but I really love this fabric!!

How much would the length shrink up if I hot soaked it? Not sure I could rock a vest that long.

For sure this fabric is the nuts… and you might be able to shrink it some.  I have the opposite problem, I'm always looking for MORE length!  Good luck.
