    @Joe:

Thanks to all who helped me git my first Iron Heart! I got my first pair of 555N today. I will post a picture soon! I really like the fit and the indigo dye looks awesome. I hope that it ages excellently!

Congratulations Joe [emoji1434] I look forward to seeing pics in the thread [emoji1420]

A special thanks to you neph and Megatron1505! It was after your suggestions that I ended up getting the 555N and I'm loving it already!

@Joe the indigo bug is real;enjoy your new addition.

Thanks! I'm not a fashion guy, but in the very recent years I've been buying products that would be of high quality. Most of the denims that I bought over the last couple of years did not last for more than a year. They either shrunk in length or in the waist. Same goes with my shoes. I remember buying a pair of leather shoes from Timberland. They never lasted me for more than a year and a half. That was when I started to look elsewhere and I came across Red Wing shoes. I ended up getting the classic 875 and even after one and a half years, they go strong.

Anyway, I reiterate that I'm not a fashion guy. So I'm now looking for some inspiration on how to combine my 555N, Red Wing 875 with a proper shirt. Which shirts go good with this combination. What do you guys think?

        Buffalo check, heavy flannel.

        Pride of Japan :-)

After almost a week of wearing the 555N, I have the feeling that the portion between the waist and the thigh is a bit loose for me. I would like to know if there is any possibility to get it altered. It does not look bad as is when I wear it, but it would be a lot better if I could get that portion to be a bit tighter. Any suggestions?

I'd stick with them for another couple of weeks, they might settle down into a better shape on you with a bit more wear.

That's sound advice. Wear them hard a few weeks. Let them become friends with you. They'll soften and sit on you totally differently.

Just wondering how these compare to the 21oz in breathing? Decent summer denim?

Love the dark indigo on these and weft!

                    Thanks guys

Definitely summer weight if you are used to the 21oz. They feel almost lightweight!!! 17oz is still wayyyy heavier than most would wear in the summer unless you are an IH fan! 😉

They are fine in the summer for me, but the only denims we make that I can't wear all year round are the UHR and the 25oz….

The rear rise is where I have the problem with my 555N. It is a bit bigger for my body size. I just compared the sizes for waist 32 between the 555N and 777S-14 and it looks to me at least in theory that 777S which has a rear rise of 13.8 might have fit me a lot better than the 15.0 rear rise with the 555N. The shop where I bought the 555N did not have the 777S in stock, so I could not try it!

I will continue wearing the 555N for a while and notice how it goes. If I still feel a bit uncomfortable with the fit, I need to get it altered for the rear rise.

My advice would be to wear them a bit more to make sure that the cut doesn't work for you.  If you continue to feel this way after a couple weeks, then I would just sell them and buy the 777s.  Those kind of alterations aren't worth it, in the end.  You may take a bit of a loss in the exchange, but you will save a lot of time and headache.

If you find the right fit, it will all be worth it, too.

Theses are my TW-666N.  It's effectively the same denim (same warp, but slightly whiter weft) as the IH-555N:

Would you guys recommend a soak so that I could shrink the denim a bit? It is now just under 2 weeks that I have been wearing it continuously and I'm constantly annoyed by the slight looseness at the back. There is no fault with the denim, but my butt is tad small!

Try a hot soak. Or even a warm machine wash (without spinning). I find that my jeans always tighten up a bit after I wash them.
