You can’t buy one of these. You have to earn it by setting a class record at Bonneville over 300 MPH. They’re awarded by the SCTA. This one belongs to my friend, SFMC brother and SCTA member Jim Hoogerhyde. He fast.
He’s also forgetful. I found it in my kitchen after he and his wife left my house this evening. I’ll keep it safe for him - and no, I won’t try it on. Stollen valor ain’t my thing.

Does this look like a fedora to you? I didn’t think so, it it is described as one in the description. It’s the only thing stopping me from buying one. I just don’t feel nostalgic in any way to the early 2000s guido fedora fad.

@Oaktavia People often interpret ‘fedora’ the wrong way. Based on the crown, this is a classic fedora. But the wide, flat brim that accompanies that crown is far more stylish than the super short brim fedoras that are often associated with lame douche bags. This hat is sick and you shouldn’t let the fact that it’s a fedora stop you.

Thank you for the response dude that helps a lot!

@WithBongInHand turns out the "fedoras" I was referring to are not fedoras after all:
• The Fedora: The tall, structured crown (often featuring sharp teardrop or cattleman creases) combined with a wide brim balances out broader shoulders and frames the face with a strong, timeless silhouette.
• The Trilby: The short, sharply tapered crown can make the head look disproportionately large or small. It carries a highly specific pop-culture association from the early 2000s that is incredibly difficult to style modernly without looking like a costume.
• The Fedora: Built to endure the elements, these hats are traditionally crafted from heavy-gauge wool felt, premium fur felt (like beaver or rabbit blends), or stiffened heavyweight straw. They hold their shape, feature premium leather sweatbands, and are built to last a lifetime.
• The Trilby: Frequently mass-produced using flimsy cotton blends, cheap polyester, or fragile paper straw. They easily lose their shape if stepped on or caught in a storm.
• The Fedora: The expansive 2.5 to 4+ inch brim acts as a personal umbrella. It throws actual shade to protect your face, eyes, and neck from UV rays, and effectively keeps heavy rain or snow off your collar.
• The Trilby: With a "stingy" 1-to-2-inch brim, it offers zero functional protection. It cannot shield your eyes from the sun or protect you from a downpour.
So, yeah that's a cool bit of information that I figured I would share.
