IHSH-96-IND - Waffle Work Shirt - Indigo

I'm a bit unsure about what size to get once this shirt drops.  Can people give some advice?

All my IH western shirts are in XL.  Some are snugger than others, depending on the material.  My main concern is the chest, I usually won't feel comfortable in a shirt smaller than 23 inches in the pit-to-pit area.

However, I have the IHTL-1213 Thermal Henley in XL and this isn't a problem (pit-to-pit is 22.4").  I didn't know at the time when I bought it that the chest of the thermal was under 23", but then again the material does stretch a little bit.

I'm thinking of getting the IHSH-96 in XL (pit-to-pit 22.8").  Should be okay, no?  Or have I overlooked some fact about workshirts that would make XL a bad choice?

Anyone able to comment on Shrink after soaking/washing?
I'm in-between sizes (XL-XXL)

I've got two other Wabash shirts and as pointed out I wouldn't think this 68 fabric will be around again (also haven't seen much or any other one make it).
It'll come down to size/fit if I'm able to keep it.

The one thing I can't figure out is the neck opening on most WorkShirts (not just IH's).
The XXL has a 18.5" neck. I'm a 16-16.5. Whats up with the huge necks?  I'm going to look like a BobbleHead in this if it sews up this big or doesn't shrink a bit.
