Mike, I kinda dig the double monks. Seems to add a little "sartorialist" flair to the get up. Those shoes make me think more "sipping espresso" than "chopping down trees."

I've bit my tongue long enough. What the fuck are those shoes Mike? IMO, they don't go with tough American style workwear. Besides the shoes, your pic is top notch.
They are Alfred Sargent double monks, made for Sid Mashburn. They're not everyone's cup of tea, but I really like them. I'm still trying to feel them out for casual wear (what they work with/what they don't), but they are great paired with a suit on the rare occasion I need to throw one on.
Yesterday was the first attempt with the ducks and honestly I'm not totally sold on that combo, gonna have to give it another shot. I think they look great with jeans though. I will also say this, they do look better in person IMO so I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on them in NY as they will be with me…

that's the reason I got these ones, the double sole is great…
and for added insanity, I'm currently drinking greasy coffee from the liquor store across the street in the double monks...

got the fireball red version__ toughest boots i've ever broken in, really. cord-filled Biltrite soles [on mine] are no push-overs.but i like its uniqueness & brawn charm. they've soften up quite a bit & starting to be comfy
Mine are 16 years old as of next month and are as broken in as they're going to get. Obviously haven't worn them hard the whole time (still the original Vibram sole), but they have seen me through a lot.
