    @Engineer:

    Am I crazy for ordering another pair?  😶 😢

    @BloodnThunder I figure as long as you can get your foot in, and they aren't painful, you should be good. 😃

    @Engineer agreed.  My foot slides in easy enough with a plastic bag inside the heel.  Aside from that there are the typical hotspots in certain places that are par for the course until the boots are broken in.  The nice thing about how these initially fit is the snugger fit in the forefoot has helped almost totally eliminate heel-slip.  So at least I don't have to worry about massive blisters on the back of my feet…..  But sometimes you gotta sacrifice the ride for the look....  And these look great.  I'm sure the ride will catch up soon enough.

      just back from the local (didn't even know we had one left) cobbler, since someone at Viberg missed to fully glue the inner half sole of my left boot.
      The guy (a bit limited in his German) was like: oh, oh, good shoe, good shoe, oh, very good shoe, oh, very good, very good, oh….

              @SLAB I just got mine and have no plans of doing it myself.  I did think about this though…..  When they eventually need a resole down the line I will almost undoubtedly send them to @BrianTheBootmaker and, if he is willing, have him point the side straps as well.

                      What are these like for walking in?

                      I covered about 10 miles / 16 km today, and that's not too uncommon an occurrence. So something reasonably comfortable is good.

                            ^ definitely!

                            I own both (Viberg Eng. & Foot Patrols) … and I would NEVER walk more than 5 miles in Engineers .. FP's  - maybe ?
                            I think, considering such distances, I would tend to sport shoes.  🙂

                                  Thanks @rocket and @Finkster. I figured that Engineers wouldn't be that friendly to walking any distance, but thought that I'd ask first.

                                  I was wearing my Red Wings today, and covered a fair distance in them. Provided the boots fit and are reasonably comfortable I can cope. Something like a pair of Foot Patrols would be fine.

                                      yeah, if the fit is right, I wouldn't see a problem.

                                      And the FPs are lighter, more flexible, you can wear em with shorts, mean you are now not exactly living in a cold area….

                                          I walked so many kilometers in my various Engineers with Jessy over mud, dirt, in Rain, snow, in 30 degree Celsius weather, anything. Never had a Problem myself but i need rough boots for us and I don't baby them, of course I care but i love to rock em. But thats me and my dwag, in fact i Love wearing all my Boots but the viberg Engineers I had from VMC took a lot of abuse and they still going strong like the first day. Also whats different in engineers is the walking style compared to laceups, so if you are more into walking like walking I'd say go with a lace up.

                                          I don't own these wildones but having the vibergxvmc one I can say that their engineers make some real fun. And the IH specced ones are some beautiful ones with a great profile.

                                          Cheers,
                                          David
