Man, Viberg has upgraded their packaging considerably in the last year.  My last pair came in a plain brown cardboard box.

First pair of Vibergs.  All I can say is, wow.  The quality is like nothing I've ever experienced before.  I was expecting them to be pretty awesome, considering what they cost, and man am I not disappointed.

Special thank you to Winchy for taking time out from a family gathering to drop them round to me this evening (after dinner!) while he was in south London.  Top man.

Winchy - I'm about to bombard the music thread with non-metal in your honour!

Shoes came in today and I the size was spot on! Only within ten minutes I managed to f… one of the laces up. I assumed one pair was spare and I could do with one length and cut one in half before lacing them up. Man I´m dumb!  Now I have to buy me some new leather laces.  For now some ugly ass cotton laces to replace. The boots are fantastic though..

G - what's the accepted way of tying the laces on these?  Sounds like a dumb question, but would you wrap once and tie, or cut to size and tie without the wrap?

I'm currently going with the former, but am erring towards the latter.  Shame to cut such lovely laces though…

                    This is my approach:

If laces are long and I can wrap, I do.
If laces are not long enough to wrap, then I don't
If I can't be arsed to thread through top eye, I wrap and tie

Keep them as long as poss, then if you break one (or cut one in half by "mistake" - whoops, sorry denim….), then the remainder remains more useful until you can replace.

Exactly!!!! So close yet…it's like blue-balls with boots 🙂

I'll just have to be patient for 3-4 months. They are worth it.

Just ordered a pair in 9.5. Now I have to play the painful waiting game. I suck at that game…but almost always win in the end 🙂

Oh noes! Am sure now you've had them in your hands you realize how amazing they are and will want another pair in your size. The joy of the hunt.

I never bought anything from ironheart.co.uk before. It also shows "endangered," so I wasn't sure as to the relationship between an endangered product and the possibility of future restocks.

It wasn't my intention to jump to sudden conclusions, but thank you for your clarification. I have filled out the restock form. Really looking forward to these boots!

                              Cheers

Emptiness, no worries, the difference between endangered and extinct is pretty difficult to get until you've been through it a few times.

Typically, but not always (because we sometimes forget), if a product has this:

» Your size not showing? Please click here to request an email when we get a restock

                                  You are OK.

The reason that this product says endangered, is that I may get bored of doing it, or decide I want to change it, then it will die.

As a general point, if I am not sure about the longevity of a product, I prefer to have an item showing as endangered

Hopefully soon as well I can use the "Iron Heart Starter Kit" option for 634S-B and 526Jod as well.

                                          Hi Giles,

A couple of questions for you.

What kind of toe do the service boots use?  Did you spec an unstructured, partially structured, or fully structured toe?

Also, could you give some sizing advice?  I already have a pair of Viberg Contractor 151X boots with a steel toe in 11E.  I believe these boots use the same last as the Smokejumpers you sell.  How does the sizing of the Smokejumper compare to the 310 last of the Service boot?  If I'm an 11 in one, would I get an 11 in the other?

                                          Thanks!

                                          Chris.

I've got the same 9D in these boots and the smokejumper, both fit well, I find the service boot to be a little roomier in the toe box, not a lot, but just a touch longer and wider!
