the leather is heavily waxed - so can make the boot colour vary a lot with temperature, but they need a bit of TLC too

Thanks for the feedback, guys.  Some cool suggestions that I'll check out.

Geo, those look great.  Do put up some pics if you decide to give them a once over.

Cap toe boot recommendations?  I'm looking at C&J Coniston and similar.  Thanks.

Not quite the same thing, as they're more overtly 'rugged' or military looking, but I like these:

I have the shoe version, they are a wide fit and very comfy and bullet proof, excellent build, I would suggest going for a smooth sole and not the commando as it is slippery on pavements in winter (although probably very good on a grassy hill) but I'd then wear a different boot for that.

didn't the elastic side gusset leak a bit on your timberlands RB?

think that would normally be the problem area . . .

                      anyway this type of thing?

basically i just wish blundstones were waterproof haha.

i've eyed those rm williams boots before but i want something that i dont care about absolutely destroying.

I was about to throw these Loakes away, the soles and heels had worn out and they're not of sufficient quality to have rebuilt. As a last minute reprieve I've had these logger soles stuck on to turn them in to a country shoe. I'm not sure whether it works or not?

Never had much of a problem with Blunnies leaking, at least no more than any other normal leather boot.  Regular polish or treatment with some kind of beeswax proofing and mine are great in the wet. I like the 550's though, they have a less absorbent finish.
