The sole is a super comfortable rubber.  The boots were a special offer/order from a couple of months ago and I think that they are my seventh pair of custom Wesco’s.

Boots will be made bei the Maftei Family, first step will be now making a individual wooden last matching my feet and then  a try-on boot made of cheap leather offcut. I will have to come to the shop they'll check the fit, if it's fine they start with the ordered boot. Will be something like Giles Kanreki boot but with a traditional Austrian welt "zwiegenaeht". Everything will be made by hand in the traditional way…

Sounds like a great Plan @Chap , the work of Maftei I saw to date looked very good and Zwiegenäht is the way to go, exited to see the Result.

Most people in America don’t appreciate Alden tan boots. The grail shoe in America is Alden cigar shell and its  due to very very small production . You can see that up in front in fourth picture .
