His stuff looks pretty cool from what I've seen.  Flat Head's shirts have spoiled me for details, though.  What's the construction like?  Does he use chainstitch felled seams, or a different manner of sewing the shirts?  Does he use selvage fabrics?

I think all his stuff is done on a small single needle Pfaff machine. He also uses selvedge fabrics.  And quality is top notch, I saw Giles' airplane shirt last year.

          that's true, MikeC.
a stupid one-man show with an old single needle machine. 😉
did a couple of shirts since that pilot shirt and solved a lot of problems in cutting- and sewing tech, so, think quality has grown.
all shirts have hand-felled seams throughout.

The lengthened Type III jacket looks really good - one of the best I've seen. What weight of denim does it use?

Are these items all one-offs, or part of a production run?

Sounds nice nietenhosen.  I have a mountain of TFH shirts but if I ever want something that's a 100% fit for my tall skinny body, I'll give you a call.

I think the jacket is the second that Jan ever made, it´s from 16oz selvage denim.
I got the denim from a local jeans artisan ( http://ruttloff-garments.com ) and Jan made it.

Here is another fitpic, that shows the length compared to an IH-shirt. I think it works perfect.

My Schmidt shirts are without a doubt my favorite shirts in my closet.  Absolutely too cool, completely custom and Jan is great deal with.  And each shirt has been delivered with a small custom mini tote bag, extra snaps and buttons.  Best finishing I've seen on a shirt.  Couple of quick pics of two of my shirts.

And some pics of my first shirt from Jan.  Made from a very cool tan organic fair trade 6.5oz fabric.  Super comfortable shirt.  Part of Jan's "Poor Man's Western" series.

That's the beauty of my Schmidt shirts.  They fit better than any of my shirts…...including my IH shirts.  Jan is so utterly precise he test shrinks the fabrics and factors that into the fit of the shirt!!!!

I have one more on order and then I want one of these:
