Smaller waist size has nothing to do with rise. Sometimes cuts come out smaller or larger than we expect/plan/want. I have learnt so much about sizing, old shuttle looms, "sewing shrinkage" and washing shrinkage this week I could write a book on it. But no, these just come small.

You'll get about an inch of stretch, but it takes dedication.

That learning experience sounds like denimhead gold. With help from Paula I sized 555-01 from you with perfectly calculated waist stretch. After a couple of weeks of discomfort they were great. But I think I may have to drop these, they may not be the fit for me. The tagged 36 will stretch with work but the thigh measurements are larger on the than I'd like, I prefer a slimmer fit than that. Any plans for the 555's in the 25 oz denim?

Has anyone found the high rise on these intolerable? I was thinking about these as my first venture into 25oz territory. I love the blue stitching on the arcs, and the "W", but maybe 666-XHS is a better fit for me.

The rise is only about 2" more than the 666s. For me this is my most favorite Iron Heart cut so far. @JerUrsidae

@neph93 most sanforized IH denim will stretch 1.5 inches or so in the waist. I sized down a size for the perfect fit.

I have the 666UHR in a 30 and they fit well after recommended soak. Any thoughts on whether I should go for these in a 30 or 31. I don't like baggy but still want to be able to walk. I'll be wearing a belt.

If the 666s fit you well in size 30, the Beatle busters will, too. Don't size up, and you do know the initial discomfort when new is all part of the process (and the fun).

The BB is more generous cut than the 666, and the denim will stretch quite a bit.I sized down to get a perfect fit. But I asked the 'stubborn crew' to find me a pair with a waist size that was slightly larger than spec.

Giving up your old favorites for a pair of something new isn't always a bad thing. Because you'll get to enjoy your old favorites again while you wait for your new favorites to get clean. Before I had my new favories I would go through '25 oz. withdrawal' for at least a day, while they would dry. -
Just had the my first crotch repair performed by SESF…nice to have them back on my legs.
Love this fade… The white blems are burns from welding...one of the reasons I love the 25 oz for work

just lost some weight so now these are getting to be super comfortable. i cant take em off. i cant believe i was thinking of selling these guys this year.

Love the arcs. Love the fit and fade pics. My waist measures 35 in multiple pairs of jeans I currently wear. Only size 34 is left available in the shop. Is it worth the chance?
But seriously… the difference between the 21oz and the 25 oz is that great? My 555-01 were not a problem to break in despite being... snug, but the 21oz is famously supple. Is the 25oz that much (ahem) stiffer?
