So, today I was going to go out and about and take loads of pics, but the weather is evil.
Instead, I'll see what photos I have on the PC.
We live in Gosport which is on the south coast of England. Gosport is about 1/2 a mile from Portsmoth by Ferry and about 20 miles by road. Portsmouth is a Naval town, it is where a lot of (what is left) of our Navy lives.
Gosport too historically has relied on most of its employment from the Navy. The Navy has contracted over the decades combined with the fact that Gosport is on the road to nowhere, being at the end of a peninsular, means that whilst Gosport has a fascinating history, these days it is massively economically challenged.
The Portsmouth Navy was supplied with booze and food from a victualling yard called Royal Clarence Yard. In 2000 the Navy sold all 43 acres of Royal Clarence Yard to developers. It is a long story, but the developer could not get permisioin to convert our house into flats. They decided to sell it and we decided to buy it.

It had not been occupied (apart from pigeons) for 30 years, had no water, no gas, no electricity, a few floors and walls were missing.
These 3 rooms are what we now use as IHHQ:
It took us 12 months and quite a few tears to get the house back in a habitable state, but that seems a long time ago now and we could not think of living anywhere else.
Before the weather turned, I managed to get out side in the WT and mow the lawn for the first time this year:
One of the benefits of living in a Naval town is that things like this happen all the time:
And then of course, one of my passions is fishing, so in the Spring and Summer, you'll more likely to catch me on the beach, than sitting here:

Yeah, well as we don't actually own a tumble-drier I guess I'm fairly safe… duh! Anyway, here they are, washed and fragrant for the next wearer (next to an IH tee that is magically white again after G chucked copious quantities of red wine down it yesterday evening).
