HEAVYWEIGHT BOOTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 - 2015
I think that it is fair to say that most of us who have more than a passing interest in quality denim, have the same intrest in quality footwear, the two do seem to go hand in hand, or foot in boot so to speak.
It has been running through my mind for a while, since seeing the horsehide boot competiton, and since bringing back the HWDC for round 2 to do a footwear related competition. I have canvassed opinion on multiple forums and social media, listened to what people have said in terms of how a footwear competition should work, and I hope that what I am proposing will tick some of the boxes that people have mentioned.
THE COMPETITION WILL RUN FROM MAY 4TH 2013 TO MAY 4TH 2015.
RULES , REGULATIONS AND SMALL PRINT

Boots must be new, or have less than 30 wears.

Boots can be of any style or manufacturer.

Boots can be made of any leather.

Only 1 pair of boots per contestant.

The contest is only open to a maximum of 50 entrants.
STATING THE OBVIOUS
Unlike a denim competition, if you wear your boots to oblivion you will probably not be in with a chance of winning. The beauty of worn boots is in the care and attention that the owner has given them, well worn boots look amazing, worn out boots simply look worn out.
COMPETITION SPECIFIC BOOTS
As an option for the contest, just like the Iron Heart MBB's, I have sourced for the competition some of the finest quality boots, from one of our favourite boot makers, and through our favourite retailer of American work boots Bakers, who have more than generously given us a 10% discount.
For the competition boot, I had a series of criteria which I wanted to fulfill….

The boots need to be substantial, in other words Heavyweight.

The boots need to be versatile, wear them for working and wear them for casual and smart occasions.
Therefore, the competition boots will be the Whites Bounty Hunter, available in either plain toe or lace to toe.
There are a variety of leather, height, sole, lace and hardware options to make the boots as you would want them for the next 2 years.
Whites Current Build Time is 8 - 10 weeks
On sizing, I find that Whites run at least half a size bigger than true, please ensure that your sizing is 100% correct when you place your order, as 2 years is a long time to wear uncomfortable boots.
Ordering will be done via the "Bakers Custom Bounty Hunters" order link on the Bakers Web Site.
When completing your order, you will need to enter a specific code to obtain the discount. I will give you the code when you PM me to register for the contest.
IMPORTANT: Should it be found that you have passed the discount code out to none competitors, you will be banned from the contest, this is for competitors only.

Bakers are sponsoring the compeition boots, and we are actively searching for further sponsorship, as always we invite brands and retailers to get in touch should they wish to support and be involved in the contest.
Prizes
As always we invite brands and retailers to get in touch should they wish to support and be involved in the contest, by offering prizes to competitors.
Maine St Footwear of Indonesia are offering a custom made pair of hand made boots or shoes, to the winners size. I can tell you from personal experience that Maine St make beautiful quality footwear, bench made, goodyear welted, using hides sourced from world renowned tanneries such as Horween USA. The winner will have their choice of models from the Maine St range.
Sagara Footwear of Indonesia are also offering a pair of boots for the winner from their ready made range. Sagara make a range of beautifully crafted boots, and particular favourite of mine being the Legacy IV in Pull Up Cigar leather.
Our esteemed judge, and owner of Hollows Leather, Mr Nicholas Hollows will also present a customer made belt, and $50 worth of vouchers for leather goods to the winner.

Okay I'll ask the obvious question, why's the content only open to 50 people? I understand if the White's discount is only open to the first 50, but if after the 50 people wish to pay RRP, or buy/use other boots, why not? Am sure there's are a good reason, but can't figure it out.
Congrats on getting this off the ground, your personal workload has got to be insane at the moment, respect!
