True for the Rehaut, on some styles it's not so bad and also more discreetly done. Still I prefer them without it. It kills an Explorer I or II.

With fashion I mean "fashionable". They might be classic in design but they are "in" and "hyped" and also a bit flashy for me. And this comes from a guy who loves his Panerai (rhyme unintentional). In that case, I am a leader as mine is the PAM 001 model from when they first came out. One of the first 1000 pieces produced. The thing is worth more used than what I bought it for new more than ten years ago. I got lucky on that one.

If you want to spend money in that range, try to shoot for an IWC GST Perpetual Calendar in steel. They are gorgeous, very unusual and classic at the same time and at $10-12k about the best shot at such a fine movement on the entire watch market. I wish I had some money left right now.

Have you ever read the watch snob on askmen.com? The guy is a total dickhead (excuse my language, other words just fail to describe him). He knows his watches but his opinion is not truly sophisticated and he expresses it in a very insulting manner.

      Till

He does. Currently I am wearing my MTG-1000 (no retro in sight today). I'll post a pic in a minute.

Awesome watch. I got the first one when it came out back in the 80's. Screwback and all. As kids we had fun throwing it around in the school yard or against the brick walls without it taking as much as a scratch. Those were the times!

To my great dismay, I lost the watch. I have the 5600 re-edition with normal caseback today. Thought about getting the 5000 re-edition as it is closer to the original in display and caseback but couldn't justify the double emploi.

                Hi,

Anyone here got a G-shock Frogman please? I'm bidding on one on ebay and I was wondering if anyone could post a wrist shot?

                Thanks
                H

Here is my latest ebay find (and a real bargain), a G-Shock Frogman (Men in Rusty Black variant):

It also came with a Glorious Gold translucent white bezel and band, but I prefer the black.

The Patek sinks Kiya's Rolex to unfathomable depths. 😉 And the Roli is already nice. But this is a beauty. 50's Calatrava?

I think I got a good deal on it.  It cost me USD2000 10 years ago.  I am sure I could get a load more for it now.  Like so many things in life, I bought it as an "investment" - but I'm completely buggered if I'll ever get rid of it….

Yeah I was thinking it'd cost a couple of milles… Damn it... The more I read this thread, and the more watches I see, the less I like my current one... But then, it's just some 'cheap' thing to use at work... And since I do physical work, it gets a lot of bumps and scratches; it's basically abused beyond and I should feel lucky there's no such thing as an Amnesty International for watches.

But no: nowt fancy... I just do physical labour in a depot... Unloading trucks, responsible for the beverage dept. (alcoholic and non-alco) of a local warehouse. Not for the lazy, I can tell you that... But I love it... Hard, honest work...  🙂
