IMO grand seiko is very understated. It is a piece of art. Thanks Carlmart..

Going to an event at the new Seiko boutique in NYC next week.  Looking forward to getting my hands on some of their stuff!

Probably the right thread for the question. Anyone here interested in the Apple Watch? If anyone from a watch PoV is going to wear it, it'd be someone in here….

Since there's a bit of Seiko love around here, Hodinkee did a piece on the High Beat Grand Seiko with the limited edition green dial.

They've also got a preview of the upcoming Watches of Knightsbridge auction.

            This Omega chronograph looks sweet.

@Snowy - I don't have any plans to get an Apple Watch. It looks interesting, but it doesn't play well with other phones, and I'm pretty tied into the Android world right now.

I am going to get an apple watch. It ties in well with my lifestyle. It will replace my fitbit. I am also a biased apple fanboy.

It is not to replace my Seiko and or my my future dateless Submariner. It will be used strictly as a casual sports watch.

hahaha. @Snowy , been waiting awhile for that question to be actually asked here. as much as an apple fanboy myself. i wouldnt be getting that watch. i feel that it doesn't really fit the bill as your typical watch, be it a mechanical or digital watch. i just cant seem to justify that as a watch myself. and even like @derivative666 mentioned, i think other sports watches like suunto might be more practical in that sports sense.

Archer is supposed to be the man!  Turn around time seems a little steep but I've heard nothing but positive reviews of his work. Let us know how it turns out.  I have a beater Tag that is due for service I was going to send up to him.

No Apple Watch for me. If they did a band with sensors (so basically a much better version of a jawbone) then I'd snap it up.

I don't want to replace my BR03 with that though.

I found a Tudor Ranger on the Bund strap in Schaap + Citroen in Amsterdam today. It's a really nice piece, and I was pleasantly surprised. I suspect it can be dressed up or down too.

The asking price here is €2300. Not sure what it'll be when it tips up in the UK.

Thanks, some say that a speedy with a date and non manual wind is heresy, but having had a man on the moon winding the movement with a relatively small crown gets old quick!

I was at the Jaeger LeCoultre boutique yesterday, and took a look at the Master Compressor. It's a limited edition of 500, though as one article put it, they don't sell many of their sports watches so that's more a marketing gimmick.

I'm probably going to get the Geophysic. I pre-ordered one and it's just arrived, but I'm not sure if I quite gel with it. Then again, it's probably more me than the above.

Shame JLC don't do a buy one get one free offer. 😞

100M water resistance on a "sport" watch with a locking crown is just inexplicable.  Granted, few will ever test that limit, but JLC should at least certify it to 200, perhaps even 300 meters.

Setting that aside, I've never warmed to JLC's design aesthetic, and neither of these models change that feeling.  The Geophysic is definitely the better off the two, however.
