        I got it from: https://corlection.com/products/samurai-denim-hiking-backpack

But it sold out already. I'm not sure if you can get it elsewhere or on rakuten.

I got my 25oz anniversary jeans today. They are really nice and heavy. They feel about the same weight as the old iron heart ultra heavy raw, possibly could be heavier after a soak. The 25oz XHS denim feels denser and heavier than this does. But I can't say for sure until I finish soaking… when I get a chance I will borrow a micrometer from work and I will measure the thickness of each denim and let you know what one is thicker. I can't weigh them because technically the Samurai would weigh more because the legs are much longer than the iron heart.

What a lovely coin purse. Hehe

Upside down A limited edition tag.

Gold plated buttons and gold selvedge id.

Double stitched arcutates are really cool. The back pockets seem oversized which I like. It makes sitting on a wallet more comfortable.

Gonna do 2 scalding hot soaks to try and shrink them. They are pretty loose fitting, except the waist is snug.  The leg openings are not too big. But the legs are 38 inches long!

The back pockets are unlined and the belt loops are not sewn into the waist band. Those are the only 2 cons I can find. But the denim weight and fantastic craftsmanship more than makes up for it. Really glad I scored these. I wonder if I will like them enough to divorce my overalls?

I added some boiling water to the soak. I want to shrink as much as possible.  I'm too afraid to put them in the washer!

I wouldn't trust that soaking process for normal weight or shrinkage prone jeans, but for something this heavy the shrinkage should be taken care.

Nice jeans and neat details [emoji106]

@Filthy I went into Corlection here in Melbourne to take a look at the Samurai backpack a week or two ago, but you'd already bought it it'd sold out.

It looks good, and more of a technical pack than the other options. For example, the RRL Riley is more old school.

No worries. I don't need another backpack, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out after you abuse it. 🙂

@yinzer I ended up putting the jeans in the washer last night for about 25 minutes just in case.

Also, about the weight: this "25oz" denim feels about the same as the old 21/23 oz Iron Heart Ultra Heavy Raw. It's not as heavy or thick as the XHS and didn't get discernably thicker after 3 boiling hot soaks and a hot machine wash. The denim is much darker than the UHR though and looks to fade very fast. Plenty of indigo loss after the wash…

Sorry buddy I have been wearing them to do concrete work and they are trashed. I was gonna try and get you a picture yesterday but they were so dirty and I was exhausted from lifting 80 lb bags of concrete all day…. I had to wash them. I will try and get you pics by tomorrow.

If you have to get your pair from Denimo today the fit is pretty close to Iron Heart 634 XHS sized down one size. they are a relaxed fit jean but will shrink all over by about an inch.

I’ve been pining over some Samurais but I’m unsure of their sizing. Denimio and okayamadenim have vastly different charts and I’m wanting to get as close as possible to my right size. For reference, sir 35 888-uhr fit perfectly.

Denimio just copy and pastes the official Samurai fit charts and those are not the most accurate ones. Okayama denim does their own measuring. If you ask Denimio they will also take measurements of an actual pair of jeans for you.

Without knowing what model of Samurai you are interested in, it's difficult to give a clear answer.

I’m looking at the regular straight fit in a heavier oz denim. I’m still pretty new to their fits though.

The regular straight fit would be most likely the 510 cut.
It comes from 15oz up to 25oz. As you want a heaver denim I would suggest either the 19oz or 21oz.
But keep in mind the 510 is way less tapered than the 888

Thanks for the advice! I planned on being blaspheming and sending them to railcar for tapering.

In that case you could consider the 710 cut, that tapers quite similarly to 888 (but with a more fitted top block, lower rise and less room in the thighs).
