IHSH-454-ODG - 11oz Military Serge Western Shirt - Olive Drab Green
Cut from 11oz Japanese serge, this is a tough, heavyweight version of our traditional western shirt that leans into the military associations of the fabric. Defined by a sturdy, ridged twill weave, serge fabrics are renowned for their strength and durability, and are commonly found in historical military uniforms and apparel. While developing this particular serge, Shinichi Haraki found inspiration in a cloth used for the classic French military M-47 cargo pants from the 1950s — a high-density cotton serge that is both hefty and rugged, while still offering comfort and breathability for everyday wear.
Bearing all the hallmarks of our western cut, this shirt features traditional western-style yokes and heavy-duty snap fastenings. Seen here in authentic military olive drab green with tonal stitching, and finished with contrasting pearl snaps and internal yellow bobbin thread for a subtle splash of colour.

Love this one. It's practically screaming for a copper snaps upgrade

How does this fabric compare to the 13oz serge? (And what about the green to green comparison? This version looks a bit lighter?)
-
-
@SuitOfUHF I have the IHSH-235-OLV and this feels lighter in the hand. It is also a darker shade of green IMO
-
@AdamJ You mean this one is lighter shade?
I'm in the process of breaking in the 13oz serge. My previous experience has been UHF, hickory stripe, and kersey (some of which were acquired second hand). The serge is by far the most stiff, scratchy, hard, punishing, ungiving. (Obviously you can tell by my framing that I hope this one is more of a normal shirt in terms of softness and give
) -
@SuitOfUHF It may be the that my serge is old and has faded but it looks like a paler shade of green than the 454-ODG but it's marginal
-
Hi @AdamJ, may I can ask you what size would you wear in these?
