Bristol Waxed Canvas Jackets
Red and OliveThe Bristol is a classically rugged shooting jacket that we’ve picked up in red and olive this season. A waxed cotton canvas outer meets a warm Manteco wool interior and a sturdy corduroy collar. There’s a generous helping of pockets. The Bristol stands alone beautifully, but we find it also layers exceptionally well with the wool-knit options in our latest Fortela collection.
Crow Zip-Up Wool Sweater
NavyThe Crow is a light, luxurious, and warm knit zip-up. Fortela take their cues from classic alpine styles of the ‘70s, then deftly elevate things with a full-wool knit. A central zip and contrasting bands at the collar, hem, and cuffs lend a pop of colour. This is a casually elegant knit that will easily sit under a bigger coat to provide maximum warmth.

Most modern fleeces lean on synthetic fibres, but Fortela have gone all-natural here with a full-wool teddy fleece. It’s lightweight and luxuriously fluffy, with levels of warmth and insulation that totally exceed its weight class.

NavyThe Riviera fills a gap for those after a smart casual trouser with a little more texture and character about it. These are done up in a single-pleat, straight-leg style in a soft yet substantial navy wool. They’re structured, but have an effortless drape on the body. Black Deer SuedeThe Flat Head celebrate their 30th birthday in style with this combination-tanned deer suede bomber. The jacket is sewn flesh-side up, so you get the buttery softness of suede on the outside and a flash of the grain on the inside. A leopard rayon lining adds a flash of attitude and colour, with the whole thing rounded out by custom-knit ribbing at the collar and cuffs. An exceptional piece for a remarkable milestone.

“Aoki Tachikage” Denim
15oz, Black-on-Blue, Slim StraightSamurai pull off a dizzying spectacle of specialist dye processes to create this unique “Aoki Tachikage” black-over-indigo denim. “Aoki Tachikage” translates roughly as “Blue Blade Shadow” — an apt name for a jean that reveals flashes of indigo as the black surface wears away.
The warp yarns are first rope-dyed indigo, then sulphur-dyed black. The weft yarns are dyed black. As the jeans wear, the black gives way to indigo, which eventually fades to reveal the yarn’s white core. Three stages of fading, all happening at yarn level. Here in Samurai’s slim-straight “710” fit.
“Kiwami” Wide-Leg Denim
19oz, IndigoSamurai’s S310XX19ozII serves up a super-wide-leg fit in one of the brand’s most celebrated selvedge denims. The 19oz “Kiwami” is formidable stuff, defined by a uniquely slubby character from the get-go. The 310 is Samurai’s widest fit, with a mid-to-high rise, generous top block and plenty of room through the leg.

15oz, BlackNow restocked in black, Samurai’s Baker Pant is a heavyweight tribute to the Army fatigues worn by US forces from the ‘50s to the late ’80s. With a classic high-rise silhouette and a balanced fit, it offers ample room through the leg.
Made from 15oz selvedge back satin crepe, the sulphur-dyed fabric is designed to fade beautifully, delivering denim-like ageing as it breaks in.

Indigo Waffle Work Shirt
IHSH-96-INDThis lightweight cotton waffle fabric is a drapey, breathable cloth. The added texture comes into its own as it wears in. The raised portions of the fabric give up their indigo at a faster rate than the ridged portions, producing some lovely fades over time.
