i have this post on SuFu and also would like to share my experience here of
301s-07BK vs. 301sI purchased my first pair of IH jeans only three months ago.
301s-07BK over-dyes from SENY
they are awesome. i am an IH addict now.i have worn them every day straight since getting them.
i would describe them as hip-bruising the first few days of break in.
really, i had bruises on my hips for a week…
And i can also say that it was difficult to raise up my leg step to walk two-steps up to my 5th floor walk up apt. the jeans are just such a workout to wear and be maneuverable.i love tough jeans, and am even slightly masochistic when it comes to how i like to break in all my clothing. but i had never experienced anything like IH jeans, these were such a challenge to wear and work in. but i just keep on wearing them.
then yesterday i purchased my long awaited IH301s jeans in exact same size, thinking that i would have to go throughout the entire proceeder again of hip bruising and ridiculous looking yoga stretch workout moves to assist in breaking them in...
and i can honestly say, i was completely surprised on how differently these 301s feel so frikin' comfortably from their first wear. no exaggeration.
yes they are snug and sized down one size to start, the jeans are painted on me, but no hip bruising, no weird yoga moves to help with sitting down..
these just rock... i can move freely and tie my shoes in them ,and i must say, i finally feel the jeans softness (that so many folks rage about IH) so much more then the over-dye version.maybe it has to do with 3x1 Weave Right Hand Twill that the 07BK over-dye has that makes it a denser beefier feeling denim then the regular 301s.

everything else from the SE specs on them is pretty similar.regardless, i love both of these jeans.
they are my project for the next year or two at least.i wont lie, the 301s fits me better right out of the box, i know that in a few weeks they will be perfect and just continue to get better.
the 07BK over-dye has taken allot of work, but it really just starting to show its amazing fitting potential.
So, i am interested in hearing others experience with the same 301s normal denim vs over-dye feelings.

I love to get myself a pair of 301s, but I am afraid they will be way too slim for me :(. I have a pair of Flathead BSP and I was told the 301s were slimmer.

not really..matter of fact I believe the top block of the 301s is wider than the BSP - just the calf and taper are skinnier

i dont think anyone with an "athletic" build will have any sort of problem getting into these. I haven't started on mine yet, I WILL when i get a belt that does them justice and when it gets a tad bit colder. i've been cheating on my IH's with some pbj's that i want to get some noticable fades before i start going full time on the 301's…
and imo 301's are going to be a "staple" cut for IH just like the 634's are -- @giles, does kiya have exclusives forever? (i mean the BB and 666's are going to be some serious competition)

idk then.. i think the quality and cut is superb along with all other IH products – although the 301's fit more slim straight on me instead of skinny. if they fit skinny that could be why

thinkin about pickin up a pair of 301s indigo but have one main concern…I know ppl said the loose weave allows for better ventilation but, can anyone shed light on how they compare to flathead f380's(i own a pair, so i wanted a reference)? Im a city guy so i go to a lot of bars/clubs and im afraid that I might be drenched in sweat with 21oz jawnz after a nite out...its either these or a pair of FH BSP's

IHs are a lot more comfortable. Them being 21 oz doesn't mean you'll be 'hotter' or anything… I've had BSPs and loved them, but prefer my SEXIH01s (301s are a slim cut as well so they're similar)...

I've been lurking here for a while an putting off signing up, but davichan's post made me do it.
@ Davichan, I have a very similar experience, got 301s-07bk 1.5 mos ago, loved them, had to squeeze etc… Went for 301s 2 weeks ago and your description is right on.
I looked at the tag inside the jawns and found that the OD tag, while hard to read, says W 31. Since they were unsanforized 31's (and probably measured 33" or so pre-overdye) the OD shrinks them to a re-measured 32, whereas the sanforized 301s is just that, a sanforized W32.
All in all both are excellent IMO.

Question about sizing…so my worn F380's measure 18" across the waist....should I purchase a size 34 and let it stretch 2 inches or get a size 36. Note that I have an athletic lower half, and would like to slightly sag a little more than my f380's allow. Also, i know these are slim jeans, but i dont want them skin tight. Really wish they made size 35....wat da ya think?
