@Max Power Thanks! That's quite a list to get started on 🙂 I'm copying it to a safe place for reference. I'm up for trying anything, and we were just talking about Ardbeg.

Well, I've gone off the deep end….

I bought a bottle of Lagavulin 16 to try out and loved it. I bought my first bottle of Laphroaig 10, and loved it. I'm screwed.

That's why I'm scared to get a bottle of L16 as well… Loved the Talisker 12yo and it's an upgrade to that'un right?..

I haven't tried the Talisker yet…. The L16 was on sale for $58 and I couldn't pass it up.

@seul You mean the 10YO Talisker? Lagavulin has a different character, but if you liked the Talsiker, you'll love Lagavulin. More Peat, more Sherry, a bit more of everything.

Talisker and Lagavulin happen to be my two favorites.  The best drams I ever had were a 40yo Talisker (honestly nectar, wish I could have afforded more than one pour) on the Isle of Skye and a Lagavulin distiller's edition (I consider this a real gem at its price point, though it's still way beyond my usual means).

I'm a scotch guy hands down but I visited this local distillery and was blown away by this. Pretty spendy and limited but supporting a local business and finished in Founders cask. It is so good, pick up lots of dark chocolate too.
