Giles, so that is near your place? Then why not talk Haraki-san into a Brit-Jap co-op on some Indigo dyed John Smedley polos.

Oh how I would buy the shit out of these…

I had a dream last night….that my RRL faded wabash vest also came in a brown wabash and that Ironheart made it  😘

I think IH would sell the hell out of brown wabash in vests, painter pants, logger pants and shirts….assuming the fabric would be denim and fade... and assuming the color isn't too dark

the purpose of this thread is to find out who else would want one so IH can do a run of it

imagine how fantastic an IH version of this vest would be in a brown (medium/dark) wabash denim with a brown denim back that can be faded:

As a slight derail…Giles: did I see somewhere an article or something explaining how the wabash fabric is made? If not, is there one (if it's not secret obviously)?

                        white would work, too, Giles

I could always tea stain mine to get them to cream (very easy to do)

Not sure I saw that.  Finding info on Wabash is super difficult.  There is a bit of info (but not 100% accurate) in Rin Tanaka's Heller's Cafe Part 2.

In our case (with the current version of Wabash) we rope dye the warp and weft then weave it.  Once woven we bleach the dots onto the face…..

this would be a huge coup for IH to make since nobody else is doing it

just have to source the right color brown denim and then it's a slam dunk, imho

Ok, I promise this is the last 'new product' interest thread I'll post in a long time…. but in addition to my Brown Wabash interest thread posted today, I wanted to throw out another idea that IH ought to consider making, and that is consider is a brown waxed cotton (and black, too) version of their Cotton Rider Jacket

with leather prices so high and the need for a lighter cafe racer for summer that looks better with age, waxed cotton/canvas truly fits the bill

this request is coming out of frustration I had trying to find one - Belstaff's are too costumey looking and nobody else is doing a pure cafe racer in waxed cotton that I could find in brown

I gave up looking and got a terrific tailor in San Francisco to make me one out of Dark Tan Martexin waxed canvas like this (and I will post a picture when it's done):

                              http://www.fairfieldtextile.com/fabrics.html

after seeing many, many old and amazing brown waxed cotton jackets at vintage clothing faires, it's about time somebody did one in a simple cafe racer format and IH already has a great version to begin with

imagine this in a great brown waxed canvas:

Yeah. An hour on Google made me aware of that fact  😉

That's good enough really. Just had a couple of people ask me how the dots were made. Thanks!
