      The story behind it is quite interesting, too. The festival was apparently a defining moment for the Colombian music scene. Unfortunately, the live recording of the gig didn't work out, so it had to be re-recorded in the studio later, with live crowd noise layered over it. Sadly, this meant the sound quality suffered.

        The YT sounded fine to my ears. Excited to hear the vinyl. Like most of the great Peruvian records I found, very few original pressings (discogs median >$300usd). Glad it’s been reissued. And surprised it’s not available on streaming platforms.

                I have to say, that thread played a part in it, too; it trains the ear. I don't know if listening to this record a few years ago would have been as enjoyable for me as it is now. Almost certainly not.

                  Ive learned plenty about great German albums from the late 60s and 70s from this thread - especially since I already considered myself a kraut-rock aficionado (typical cocky American i know....)

                    @GraemeE whoa!!! That’s freaking amazing! I’m still patiently waiting for my MFSL release of MM. a Verlaine personal copy would be rather badass as well.

                            @68degreesorless well technically yes....

                            I used my phone photo editor to try and blur out a certain word in one of the song titles that I didn't feel comfortable posting

                            And I did a pretty shitty job of it at that but at least its not legible

                                @68degreesorless essentially I tried to make it subtle so no one would be the wiser...then failed at subtlety by not realizing my phone would betray me in the bottom left corner

                                      After 6 weeks on the road, I'll be home again next weekend. Thinking of placing a record order to coincide with my arrival. I've been getting more interested in 60s and 70s funk, soul, and funk/soul-influenced jazz. I have names like Cymande, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Boogaloo Joe Jones, Jimmy McGriff, Lou Donaldson, Booker T & th MGs, O'Donel Levy, and Jimmy Smith on my want list. Would love to hear any recs in that spirit from the group.
