I think I'm set for life with Leica now :). Just need to figure out if I'll get a film camera next or just keep on as is…

I have been using a fairly cheap Sony DSLR a290 the past three years (and treated it bad, it fell into seawater twice). Since three weeks I noticed that the camera gets hot and empties the battery when I turn it off. A second battery showed the same effect.
-Do you think it can be fixed and is worth it?
-What would be a good option for a new camera around 500€? Eos 1200D, Eos 700D or Nikon D5200?

• I don't need a fancy Display, video function, W-Lan or the like, but would be willing to upgrade from the cheapest models to a slightly more expensive camera, if I can get a better Picture Quality…
