Anyone here play video games?

GTA6 pre-orders are live today so the 3rd trailer should drop soon.
Got to love Take-Two Interactive/Rockstar. The physical copy will not include a disc, just a download code. But in Dec you'll be able to buy a copy with a disc. Neat little ploy for collectors and those that want to truly 'own' their content to purchase two copies (one on release, one later). Factor in the PS6 version of the game in a couple of years and then the PC version. Think they're gonna comfortably make back the £2Billion spent to make the game. GTA5 was the most successful piece of entertainment content ever, so, oh shit ... here we go again.
Deluxe version will be around £100 in the UK. You have to pre-order to get certain in-game mission/cosmetics.
I guess it's worth it because this is a generational, cultural release. At least that's how I'm justifying it lol.

Sounds like they have locked my fave GTA car the Cheetah behind the deluxe edition paywall also.
Oh well might just get it, not often a new GTA comes along is it.
-
PS5 Pro sales jumped up after that last gameplay trailer as that is going to be the best way to play it day one until the PC port, but they usually follow quite a while later.

I'm a nerd. I want 60fps. But that isn't going to happen. We know nothing official about performance mode/quality mode (other than some bits from Sony) - but I'll be happy with my PS5 if we get say 40fps.
PS5 Pro will defo be 60fps and probably be the best platform to play it on (until a pc version is released).
No chance I'm buying a PS5 Pro when there's a rumour Sony are set to release a PS6 in 2027 (hoping this doesn't happen).
Who am I kidding...
TAKE MY MONEY

Bought my PS5 Pro day one so all good

Surely it’s got to use the new version of the PSSR upscaler!
Roll on November.

My son, who is an avid gamer, is finally playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and it’s been so much fun seeing him explore the world and enjoy the gameplay. It’s so different from the games he usually plays and I swear when he talks about Red Dead he starts using a “cowboy drawl” in his voice. Anyway, makes me want to return to Valentine and give it another run through. He’s about 60% through and he can’t get over just how big the world/game is.

Saw earlier posts about the excitement of Forza Horizon 6. Currently still (impatiently) waiting for the PS5 release, but any of you play with a sim racing setup? General question not just specifically with the FH series. I just like seeing what others use if they have a racing sim rig.
Question goes for anyone who’s into simulation games and has built a rig.

@RoxRocks86 I have a Logitech G29 wheel and pedals and have tinkered with it in GT7. It’s not really a seat rig so I just did a janky setup but after some practice was able to shave my lap times down below what I was capable of with a controller, thanks to the more precise inputs. The feedback isn’t the most predictable or natural but it works. For some reason I feel slower with the wheel, but the lap times don’t lie. I don’t go full-nerd with it or with games in general which is why I haven’t gone crazy with the rig yet, but it is fun and adds to the experience.

@RoxRocks86 unfortunately never had the opportunity to have a racing rig, or even a wheel! But let me know if/when you do go for it - I do have to get at least a wheel at some point, so any reviews would be great!

Same. I also think Forza H is more of a controller type of game (if that makes sense) as it leans more into accessible 'arcade' style racing where I guess Forza Motorsport and the GT games are more technical racing games that have those sim qualities.
But this is me saying this, green eyed with jealousy for anyone setting up with a wheel

Hoping we get Forza H on PS5 soon. Xbox thankfully not selecting this game to be an exclusive on their console.

@WhiskeySandwich You’re right about racing on a controller, it definitely takes skill and feels more difficult due to needing to be on your A game. Love all types of racing games on a wheel. It’s pretty fun and feels more immersive.
The G29 is a great wheel had lots of fun on one that was attached to a cheap wobbly Walmart table for a while
Ended up upgrading to the Logitech pro wheel as I got into GT7. Currently don’t play on it as much since work is busy so bf currently has it as his place. He’s into racing/drifting so he’s adding an h-pattern shifter and hydraulic handbrake to it. Excited to try some PC games on it as a full rig. -
@Steve they’re so much fun! Even something entry level makes a difference. Go for something with a direct drive wheel for good feedback if you’re really looking into a wheel

I started with a Logitech G29 wheel, but currently have a Logitech G pro wheel & pedal setup. I’m not at all a serious racer/gamer but I do take having fun seriously
This setup is more than enough. The chair also folds up with the wheel and pedals attached which makes it awesome for stowing away when not in use. There are several other brands that are more bang for your buck & more configurable for accessories and gaming on PC/console. Just depends on what you’re into.

@Nick thanks for the feedback Nick! Never played any of the Forza games, as I’ve never had an Xbox but definitely excited to get into it once it comes out on PS5.
