I have spent a lot of time talking to Haraki about these over the last couple of days.  He is extremely proud of them and whilst they caused immense problems in the making (to get 300 good pairs for VMC, the factory have to make 370), he believes that now they have worked out how to make them, they should get easier.  Plus, the Japanese domestic market is screaming out for them, so I think we may see them continue in production.  Albeit in limited batches….

what happens to non-A grade 25oz IH denim?

not saying this is what is done with these but normally with 100% cotton its sold on in weight for recycle. fabrics like duck/calico/art canvas/ usually use recycled cotton.

That is the plan, but all denim behaves differently, so there will be some variation…..

Oh, I thought you had some of the 634XHS already.  I figured you had tried them on and could compare the fitting between a 634S and a 634XHS.

First sample is like the first batch, right?  The ones that will go on sale will be the second batch?

paul the first sample is just the sample jean. it would have been made by one machinist and not in a production line situation. the ones coming are the first batch.

Anyone else in Toronto want to Have a beer when the XHS hits town? It's gonna be like a new holliday Sigh… Giles you need to sell Iron Heart advent calendars for new releases and restocks! I think something like a twelve(24?) pack of Hoegaarden with the day numbers scrawled in sharpie on the labels... OOwhhh I see a "DIY" thread..
