Soaking the 1103ex yesterday was such a big ordeal.  This thing is super heavy and freakin destroyed my bath tub with indigo stain after the hot soak.  This thing was bleeding indigo all over my house and couldn't find a decent place to hang it.  Finally decided to use the spin cycle on the washing machine.  Had to do a major clean-up before the wifey came home.  There are still trails of indigo blood on the carpet but she seems to not notice it.

Overall, they're drying now and will head over to SE to get them chain stitched.  I picked up size 32 (tag size) and shrinked about
1.5 inches in waist and 2 inches in length.  I tried them on while damp and the experience was less gruesome than when I tried
fitting into a damp 634SR.  I saved my fingers by wearing some latex gloves to button them up.  Fit is a bit slimmer than the SRs so I'm looking forward to post some pics when I get em back.

The strike of gold in the selvedge thread looks super cool.

Ha! When I read stuff like this, I remember why I love being a member of a forum replete of denim junkies.

If I somehow come up with the money for the 1003exs, I am so getting another pair this time I will go SD1 (well.. 29-30 is my usual size so I will be going with the smaller waist size).

Just hope the 29 isn't gone!

My 1003ex arrived, and after a week eating extravagantly in Ireland (loads of bread and seafood in epic portion sizes) I am NOT doing a fit pic, they are going to have to sit on the shelf for a couple of weeks.

Question though - in the raw state they seem to have a very high rise, does this settle down a bit post-soak?

Damn right, they are. My god, I've been doing regular calisthenics just to try and loosen them up a bit.

yeah I could have got a size bigger but the full leg cut steered me down one
I feel like they'll stretch out nicely though

looks like if you removed just the bottom of the arcs, you have the Levi's arcs

                          Not really
Would be similar to the present samurai arcs
                          But even more asymmetric

Sam arcs are a variation of the Levi arcs to me too 😃

Arrow, I'm looking forward to seeing your fit pics.  I've got a pair of the 1105EX (23oz) and they fit really well after initially not being able to close the top two buttons.

The not being able to do-up the top two buttons part? I know…haha. SGs are stubborn mother's. I put about two hours of work into mine every morning. But they are simply too dope to give up on.
