Rainbow Country leather jackets
-
A few trips ago I tried a couple RC jackets on. Sometimes I think I should have come back with it as it fit pretty well and the styling was great. The leather felt a little brittle/thin to me and the zipper felt really tiny in comparison to the IH stuff or really any other jacket zipper I've had. This was me just being worried about things that I didnt know about, also never hearing about RC before then, so I made the "safe" decision and left it at the store despite going back to look at it a second day. Still have the photos from trying it on;

Perfect fit @pechelman . You should have got it.
It is not very easy to find brand new RC jackets - obviously the production capacity is not that big and probably this is one of the reasons why the brand is not so popular. -
Seeing all the awesome photos from @Cskarev with his RC over the last several
months made me grab a Hercules.

A very well done recreation of the classic Sears jacket.

Here is a recent photo of the RC Hercules in seal brown…beautiful jacket

@Cskarev Where do you buy from?
I’ve looked pretty closely at RC jackets (specifically the Hercules). It would be nice if they had a North America retailer. I know Duds by Del is selling them on line now. Waiting so see his measurements.
EDIT: your jackets do,look like they fit you to a “T”

-
@Brandrea thanks! All my RC jackets fit like they are made to measure. Size 42 works for me perfectly.
I have bought this particular jacket (Hercules in seal brown) from a member of The Fedora Lounge forum. But it was in almost like new condition. The black one is also from there.I got one from a Japanese retailer who is shipping worldwide (Avenue store). Great guy, very responsive on Instagram.
There are several other retailers (mainly from Japan) who are also offering RC jackets.
Del is the only one who acts like a representative of the brand in North America AFAIK. Nice guy, also big fan of RC jackets. -
@Cskarev Thanks for this.
I’ll see if I can figure this out through one of your recommendations. Appreciated!

Hard to beat this jacket in black shinki.

Here is this beauty in black when broken in…

@Cskarev Hello. I had a quick question for you. I am looking at a size 42 speedster and was wondering anout sizing. I think it will fit me. I think I a aw you wear a size 42 in the rainbow country jackets. Do you were a size XL in most of IH shirts.
-
@pechelman Where did you try these jackets on? I cant tell which stockists in Japan actually carry RC consistently. I've got a trip next April so need to start the process of convincing my wife to allow me a shopping day
-
@pechelman Awesome thanks! Wish me luck in finding it haha
-
@jjwoody13 Hi, man! All my RC jackets are size 42 and all my IH shirts and tees are size L. I hope this helps. It depends on the preferred fit of course (I am taking about the IH shirts here) but I can say the measurements of size L of IH shirts always seemed to me like they were based on my measurements.

-
@Cskarev it does thank you. My IH size is normally XL so a 42 Rainbow Country would probably be too small for me.
-
I am in the market for a new leather and these came on the radar but they all seem to be half belt which I am not a fan of. Shame they don’t seem to do the Hercules without half belt?
-
@jjwoody13
IMHO you be at least a size 44 or maybe a 46. I wear IH XXL and I’ve looked at buying an RC Hercules in 48. Unfortunately the sleeves are too short and the shoulders are too wide. Obviously everything is subjective to your body type. FWIW, I’m 6’2”, 180 Lbs with a 42” chest. I can never seem to get the right fit in the Japanese brands. I’ve pretty much tried them all

Is anyone using the Mustang Paste or Mustang P Water to condition and maintain your leather jackets? If so which do you like better and why? Additionally have you used any other products, if so, how do they compare to the Mustang past and/or Mustang P water?
