Anyone else into Jackman?
On my hunt for my perfect heavyweight t-shirt, the Jackman "Dotsume" knit tee has become my favourite by some margin. After trying one, I've gone and bought a few other Dotsume shirts given how much I loved the first. The reasons I love it:
- the fit is relaxed and modern without being sloppy (quite similar to the IH 7.5o\ tees, my favourite IH tee fit)
- the loopwheeled fabric is really dense, heavy (11.5oz) and intensely textured.
- the collar is nice and thick and good tightness to neck.
- fabric is very stable to washing/drying (please pay attention merz....)
- sleeves are quite long and not too tight (please pay attention 3Sixteen...)
- all round excellent stitching.
The only "downside" is that despite being loopwheeled fabric, the shirts have side seems; not a dealbreaker for me, and I'd favour a flattering fit achieved through inclusion of side seams more than I would an unbroken tube of material all for the sake of not having seams.
The company has a cool history (https://www.jackman.jp/shop/pages/about.aspx) and seem to have settled at a nice intersection of tradition while trying innovative things with their fabrics. Nice videos on the site too.
I'm interested in trying more of their products outside of the Dotsume heavy knits, and looking at both their Grace (they process the material to remove the fuzz, apparently leaving a cooling silk0like feel despite the dense fabric) and their Lead-Off tees (air-spun cotton of varying thread size which apparently yields a crisp, rougher texture).
Does anyone else own Jackman stuff?

I’ve got a couple of their pocket t shirts. I really like the fit, and they have a great fabric weight without being too heavy.
I’m wearing one today as it goes.

Might not be to everyone’s taste (I know lots prefer a trimmer fit) but this is my ideal t shirt shape (hides the beer belly reasonably well). Hopefully shows off the texture of the material as well - closest material I can think of is the heavyweight Merz fabric used in their 2S14 shirts.

@NickD nice one! I wonder if this is the same fabric as the "lead-off" tee shirts. Looking online at a pocket-tee it says that it's air-spun cotton made of different lengths, which matches the lead-off fabric description. I've found it a touch difficult to get detailed info online on the differences between Jackman's fabric options - hence why I'm interested in hearing how others have found them on this forum.

I have a long sleeve dotsume and a few skull caps from them. Great brand. I like the cut and weight of their shirts.

@jerkules what kind of weight is it? Looks like it's got a bit of a short sleeve sweatshirt vibe going on.
