Seriously considering a two-tone roughout slate/black build in these.

Not perfect, but I like it better after removing most of the black paint from the midsole. I’m glad I went for the single midsole. It’s nice having a lighter weight boot option. Now it’s time to wear in the slate.

Chukkas turned out to be the perfect Wesco for preboard checks, off and back on in an instant. Far easier and quicker than service boots.

Got these roughouts in the latest outlet sale and will hopefully get used on a demo bike ride later today.

As per my previous post, last year, my black chukkas proved to be very practical as airport footwear. A year in, they have gradually monopolized my preference as a within-city motorcycle wear. I think these 3 characteristics added together make them a favorite:
- super quick on-off; 3 sets of eyelets take only one second
- tank feeling; super thick oil tan rough-out gives a secure feeling even if only an ankle boot
- impervious to motorcycle muck; rough-out leather soaks up all road nastiness and keeps a decent look with next to no maintenance from owner

Here they are bored waiting for my turn to go into a bank. Great shoe!

^ I appreciate you doing a follow up post a year later.

Stoked with these custom burlap roughout chukkas I scored via Franklin & Poe on sale for an amazing deal. These will be great for warmer weather and airport travel. @motojobobo I could not agree more with your comment- the way the tongue is designed makes these a breeze to take off.
To kiltie, or not to kiltie?

Those are sick! Wish they had my size.

Seems more like a Desert Boot than a chukka. Nicks Boots chukka seems more authentic to me.
