@Dmart nice, well you certainly have the bike for it. I started very slow as a swimmer too. Now it is certainly my best discipline of the three (granted still not fast), it comes with repetition and lots of practice

@Spencer35 it’s a very technical sport compared to cycling and running. I’m daily in the water and it gets better, slowly but steady.

@Dmart 100% true on the technicality of swim. Though swim is VERY different from Golf, they have similarities in that they seem relatively simple and straight forward, yet are very technical and technique driven sports.

Congrats on your upcoming races! What 70.3 are you doing? If you ever have any triathlon or training related questions, please feel free to reach out. I've been in the sport for over 10yrs, with 8 Full Ironman finishes (God willing 9 after this summer), 20+ 70.3 finishes and multiple shorter distances as well.

I rode my first triathlon in a vintage red Alan lugged aluminium frame with Campagnolo Delta breaks - the bike was many years older than me. The breaks were absolut shit at doing their job but one couldn't be made due to their salient beauty.

I am a road cyclist for years, but built myself a gravel bike for all year around fun 🙂

I really don’t know why I don’t have a picture of my roadbike with the new one piece cockpit.

It takes my son to kindergarten in his Thule Chariot, gets me to work every day, rides on gritty trails and smooth tarmac. I simply love riding it every day.

Can anyone recommend a tyre of the same quality as the discontinued Schwalbe Marathon XR?

@RobeOfTheMagi I like the Gravelkings by Panaracer. I have used both the slick version and gravel version. Rene Herse also makes some good tires (pricey though)

Interesting, I've never heard of Rene Horse before, seems really pricy but it might be worth the money. The gravel tyres by Panaracer look nice, but they're probably not as bombproof as the Marathon XR - however, the low weight is nice!

In general I'd like to replace the wheels of my bike this winter and I need a hub dynamo. So any suggestions for new 26" rims/wheels are very welcome. The back wheel needs to have 32 spokes due to the Rohloff Speedhub.

And yeah, and I have Magura HS33 brakes (please don't shit on them ;)), so I need rims for rim brakes.

I was thinking about these Ryde Andras.

What size tires are you using. Continental Gatorskinz are really durable, however, not sure they go larger then 32mm and are for mostly road.

                                        My favorite rims are Pacenti’s

Got to watch a Tour de France stage in person this summer, stage 11 that finished at Le Lioran. I watched at Col Pertus. I didn't know about the caravan of tour sponsors' novelty vehicles that comes through about an hour before the riders, throwing out free stuff at the crowd. I saw an old man and a young boy play tug of war with a t shirt. Then the next morning on my way to the local bakery I came across two team buses and their bike cars as they stayed in a local hotel. Last pic is on top of the big summit they went over which I rode up yesterday, Puy Mary.
