@seawolf true for sure! I’ll soaked mine a while back and it was surely roughed up again.. not as much as new tho.. but in the end some washing etc is good for the cotton fibers

Loving all these updates from everyone!!

@seawolf what I’m a bit nervous about come wash time is the length shrinking. I very warm soaked it with solid hand agitation when new. The length is a perfect 25.75” right now. Length is one of those things I’m hyper picky about. 25” is too short for my preference. Hoping a straight cold wash won’t have any effect when the time comes.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

@Mizmazzle Omg. Mine is too long. Want to trade?! 😂 I did a hot soak at first, so I think I have some shrinkage to look forward to when I finally wash it with agitation. What size is yours that enabled you to get it down to 25.75"?

Tag size 40. Think I lost like an inch or so in length too when I soaked/ agitated. Horrified to lose more haha. What’s yours at??

I just measured. I'm also a tag size 40, and my hot soak got me down to 26-3/4", so in the hot wash it goes! I don't think you'll get any more shrinking, especially if you stick with cold washes. I love a short Type III, so the length is really the only thing that's ever bothered me about this jacket. I sold my buttery soft unmodified 21oz 526od because it didn't have pockets, and I don't love OD denim, and opted for the Lefty instead. But that old jacket was such an amazing length for me!

@Mizmazzle no, I don’t think so. I didn’t measure but I imagine it was closer to the size charts.

I just pulled my jacket out of the wash after a hot soak and a hot wash with plenty of agitation, and I landed on 25.5”, so I’m stoked!

@seawolf oh sweet dude!! Might even tighten up a bit more as it dries! Look forward to seeing how it looks post wash!!

Edit: just looked at my presoak measurements. Mine was at 26.75…so I lost exactly an inch to land at 25.75. If yours was near the posted measurements that would be 27.3 down to 25.5. That’s about 1.75” of shrink in the length. Now I’m really scared hahah. Maybe I’ll just never wash mine like @twin

I genuinely think cold wash will be the way to go and won’t cause any further shrinkage. If you wash it in hot by accident, that’s a different story.
