figured the weave may tighten up a little
                      but I don't want it to shrink…

IME, it will wrangle up a bit during wear (in a lineny sort of way) but not actually shrink per se.

now slightly off topic and maybe some what a nooby question, i know the history and how Chainstitch runoff side seams came about but dont understand how it morphed from part of the functional stitch to display like this one?

first of all does anyone not look good in this shirt! 😞

my above question was sorta never answered. Could someone pretty please help me out by taking two pictures of this shirt. inside seam of the gusset and the inside where the side seam meet the sleeve.

I am not sure if this is the answer tio your question, but it is really an affectation - "look my shirt was constructed using a chain stitching machine"

                                  Straight out of the wash…..............

Thanks for the pics G! I am just to try and see if it was actually still part of the construction and as usual IH seem to have gone the extra mile on construction. I think I'll have to get one to see in person.

Yes it is def part of the construction, some of the shirts out there have "faux" chain stitch run off…...

Yeah all the ones i've seen the chain stitch is actually sew on after the side seam is closed. Because it's easier then trying to work with the gusset at the end
