    Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, so please excuse me if my question was already answered.
I really want to purchase a pair of those boots once they're back in stock, however I've no experience with Wesco boots and how they size.
I've got two pair of Lofgren engineer in size 8 and they fits me perfectly with thin/nish socks (I'm not a big socks fan).

Can anyone with experience with both brand could give me an advice on which size I should get?

    Thanks a lot

@Boeingtone first of all welcome! If the lofgrens are the only way to go with thin socks i would at least go up a half size if you’re going for the D width. Or go in the same size in a E width. Mr. Lou’s run tighter but that’s the whole point of the boot. If you wanna wear it with thicker socks then go up a half size no mather wich width you’re gonna take. But that’s just my 2 cents.

@Boeingtone @Ross is the IH point of contact for Wesco’s and would be a great resource for this question. You could either send an email to him at: shop@ironheart.co.uk or he may respond to this question tomorrow when he is back in the shop.

If it helps, I wear the Lofgren in 10 and Wesco Mr Lou in 9.5 E.

@Boeingtone I'd probably agree with @Heavy_blue's assessment, MrLous are generally a little slimmer in profile than Lofgren engineer boots - so it depends where you run out of room first. if you find you run out of width space first then going with the same size (8) in an E width may be the way to go, if you run out of length first then an 8.5D may be a better way to go.

If you want to shoot me an email or a DM I'm happy to go into some more detail for you

My Lofgren engineers size 10.5 fit me a little loose. They fit best with thick socks. Can wear with thin socks but lots of heel slip.

My Wesco Mr. Lou are size 10.0 (unsure on width but they were purchased same day from the factory so I think they are the "stock" model). They fit perfect with thin socks. My toes sometimes get sore if I wear thick socks.

Both of the above reports are ~12-18 months after I got them. They are well broken in now.

Thank you all for your help. I've to say that I'm still a bit confused, while Heavy_blue advice is to go half size up or D width, @68degreesorless and @Dmart went half a size down... I wish I could try.
@Ross Thanks for your help, I'll make sure to get back to you before ordering. BTW, are you gonna get a restock?

                Thanks!

If i may speak on my comment I assumed that the lofgrens fit you perfect with only thin socks. That’s why i gave the advice the way i did 🙂 since lofgren are running a litte wider/bigger in the toe area. If you ever gonna switch to thicker socks you may find yourself in a position with boots that fit quite snug in Mr. Lou. I’m a 9,5 in Lofgren wich i wear with nordic socks. I could wear a 9 in Wesco but only with dress socks for example. But that’s just my experience and i think your idea to hit up IHUK before you order is the best way to go man!

Thanks @Heavy_blue, final question (I promise) when you say you could wear a 9 in Wesco Boots are you talking about a E or a D width?

@Boeingtone you can ask as many questions as you like my man! We are all here to share & care! Then i would go width E. Since Mr. Lou is running a little more narrow in my experience correct me if i’m wrong @Ross

While I hate to use what sounds like an excuse, it is true that there is some subjectivity to comfort in boots and therefore the sizing advice you're going to get. The feedback from this thread in some way proves that with the difference between everyone who has kindly replied.

There are no hard-and-fast rules in my experience, only general recommendations based on the available information and majority consensus. Everyone has different feet and wear them differently, along with having different standard for what they consider comfortable.

@Boeingtone I'm going to pop you a DM to discuss a bit more detail
