    Update :

Wait, in less than three months, your jacket faded this much? Was it an artificial fade? Genuine interested in how this evo occurred so rapidly. Thx!

Like Neph said and he has been wearing his hard since Dec or Nov of last year, so a lot longer than 3 months.

The double indigo denim fades very quickly at the points where it creases while staying dark elsewhere. The result is high contrast fading especially at the elbows, hems etc.

Add to this the fact that @Zein1505 wears his everyday in a tropical climate and Bob’s your uncle. I have a strong impression that he wears his denim hard with no f@@ks given too. That always helps.

Ah, I see. I have an IH-101J that I’m wearing daily without giving a  f€k and a half wooden tooth, but it’s still saturated with indigo like ink from a chicken-sht squid. Guest I’ll have to roll in the dirt and slide into homebase more often.

Actually about three months from the quoted post (2/21/19) and his original post when the jacket looked starchy brand new. But, yeah, gotta wear it like an abusive relationship for several full moons and 3 cases of whisky.

Well, the fact that you wrote “double indigo” makes it sound special enough to pull the trigger on one from the IH American website. I’ll just need to wear it while spraying myself with mist and crawl through a pile of gravel. In addition to the blood from my abrasion, do you think that will give the jacket some high contrast?

Thanks for this thread (I think); can’t wait to get it and share fit pics.

If you search for items with the -SII suffix in the webshop, then hit the link in to the forum thread you’ll find lots of info on the fabric and some impressive fade pics. There is a thread on the world tours board for a pair of double indigo 666 which is pretty great too.

            Congratulations with the purchase btw.

You will love this jacket. Mine isn't even close that broken in, but its softening up nicely. I wear it all of the time, but I could use some advice on breaking it in faster apart from moving to indo.

Build stuff, carry stuff, roll around in the mud, crawl on carpets, wrestle with bears. Other than these and other comparable activities, here are no short cuts I’m afraid.

Most of my labor is cutting the grass these days and even that is on a riding mower since I'm on 3 acres. I'm thinking grass stains aren't good.

Maybe I can wear it to fix the dishwasher today…

Or roll the tractor over the jacket in the driveway a few times.

Lol. I may just do that. My neighbor and I would have some fun doing this with a few bourbons in the belly!

Definitely cheating. Although if there is bourbon and fun involved I may allow it [emoji1]

Just received the jacket today and it went into the hot drink for 30 minutes.

Then soak and wet it was still stiff with rigor mortis.

Then stood around for fresh-air drying. This crunchy jacket is going to contrast nicely.

Great shots @Powerband . The upside down crucifixion was especially cool. Looking forward to the fit.

After the soaking, a small amount of shrinkage was expected and experienced.

Based on the shrink-test results posted at the beginning of this thread, I had bet (hoped) that my SMALL size IHJ-72 will shrink to how I want my fit, and I was correct:

Sleeves shrunk the most, as predicted; it went from 26 to 24.8… a little more than an inch, making the sleeves just perfect for me.

The length of the jacket went from 23.6 to 23.

Shoulders went from 18.3 to 17.8.

Chest went from 21.3 to 20.8.

The jacket was dried by this morning so I got a quick picture (sorry for the grainy photo—it is low light in the bathroom).

Well done, sir! 😎

Thank you, Crit. I have been wearing this jacket regularly over the last few weeks and am marveling at the changes, particularly that it has become a system of fairly “fitted tubes” for each segment of my torso. It’s like soft, comfortable armor. The creases have occurred quickly and the fades at high points are already noticeable. A very natural jacket to carry along and to wear.

I wear mine daily to work. Goes great with slacks as a blazer/sport coat alternative. Not much in terms of fades yet, but that's all good. This is a marathon and not a sprint.

Tempted to snag a pair but cant decide whether a Large or XL will work. Am currently a  size  Xl in Flannels and I have a 43chest with 18 shoulders. I know there is shrinkage to be had in these.
