Now in the webstore: the Magic Bullet full length debut of VALERIAN SWING in the form of the mighty A Sailor Lost Around the Earth.
These guys hail from Italy and are certainly new to most listeners over here, so we’re hooking it up and offering the entire CD for only $6.00 ppd in the US because WE WANT YOU TO HEAR IT and we want you to own it. $6.00 is obviously cheaper than iTunes and cheaper than vinyl when checking out new bands, so please take us up on it. The more we are able to sell, the better likelihood that we can generate demand enough to get these guys over here on tour. So please keep that in mind.
Musically, you’re in for a treat. It’s based loosely on a lot of that instrumental/post-rock type stuff that we’ve been linked to in recent years, but with an extremely aggressive and frantic take on it. It’s tight as a drum and the dynamics are just killer (huge thanks to Matt Bayles for lending his production and mixing talents to this one). We’re very excited for this band and this album and hope it will be in your collection for many years to come.

CHARLES MANSON "AIR" LP - FOURTH PRESSING (500 ON CLEAR W/BLACK SMOKE) - MBL138-1
Now in the webstore: the fourth pressing of CHARLES MANSON‘s now landmark Air LP.
It seems like only yesterday that we issued the first pressing of this record, so to already be on the fourth is truly great feeling. The vinyl color this time ended up being primarily clear, but you’ll notice on each copy that there’s varying degrees of black “smoke” permeating throughout. Some are more pronounced then others, but each copy is certainly one of a kind.
500 were pressed in total and they are available now in the webstore (along with the 15 remaining red copies of the third pressing). Thanks again for the tremendous support of this album.

GHASTLY CITY SLEEP "MOONDRIFTS" 2xLP - $8.99 SECOND PRESSING (VARIOUS COLORS) - MBL142-1
In many ways, almost every facet of this release was cursed from start to finish. However, our headache now becomes your gain, as we’re offering the second pressing of GHASTLY CITY SLEEP‘s Moondrifts 2xLP for a paltry $8.99 ppd in the US.
Long story short: the center labels were originally run with CYAN ink when they should have been PMS 877 silver. There was also confusion at the plant as to which center label went on which side (A became C, B became D, and vice versa). So we were told to keep all the messed up copies and that new ones would be run. They were and, while the center label color was corrected, the placement was still off.
So now we’ve got tons of these damn records clogging up space over here… definitely more than immediate demand warrants. Our hope is that at $8.99, even the moderately curious will be motivated to check out this gorgeous record (both musically and aesthetically).

DOOMRIDERS "BLACK THUNDER" LP - REPRESS - MBL073-1
Now in the webstore: yet another repress of DOOMRIDERS‘ popular debut LP Black Thunder.
This time around, we ran two variations. First up is something we’re calling “THUNDERSTRUCK.” It’s basically like a deep bruise that turned black. The purples are deep, the blues are throbbing, and some skin peeks through here and there. Dark, dark, dark is the key here. Roughly 250 exist.
The second variation is “PURPLE HAZE.” It’s a lavender/light purple marbly melange of a color. Either way, it’s entirely based on the background haze of the front cover at that Jebb painted. I thought it would be really cool to have the record itself look like an extension of that since we never really had that before on this title. Again, about 250 of these exist.
Nerdiness: this is the first run of Black Thunder to feature standard white 1c1s board stock on the LP jacket. Previous runs all had clay-coated news back. If you care about this, you’re missing the fucking point and need to listen to more of your records instead of “collecting” them.
Copies of both variations are in the webstore now. The band also has some copies that you’ll be able to purchase at future shows.

Third World "Try Jah Love". I have produced a live album by this great wicked group, as well as solo albums for Cat Coore (the guitarist) and Bunny Rugs (the lead singer). They are great musicians, superb performers and super to hang out with. Cat's father, David Coore, was Jamaica's Minister of Finance in the 70's and wrote Jamaica's constitution. Cat's son, Shiah, plays bass and produces Damian Marley. Rugs is a pure ghetto man, who recorded for Lee Perry, moved to NY, drove taxi cabs, did interior decoration and so forth in New York, prior to joining Third World.

+1…I saw 'em live once, and they played for like 2.5 hours STRAIGHT...no breaks, no chit-chat with the audience, just shreds. They played through Crack the Skye in its completion and then started in on the old stuff. So awesome.
