Just arrived today. Lovely denim. Since i cannot do the 666 cut as much as i love it, i got the smallest tag 36 to get that slim feel. They are tag 36 measuring 35.7 waist and 13.8 thigh

Very similar to the standard 21oz right twill. They start just slightly stiffer and soften up pretty fast. They dont sim to stretch as much as the 634od but they stretch egually to the 888s 21oz that i have. Now the 634 19oz lefty that i have is a completely different animal. A lot stiffer and it doesnt give as much.  Hope this helps.

I always wanted to like the 634. I’ve had two pairs of 634’s in the past. I love the top block but the wide straight leg bothered me. In addition they didn’t play well with my narrower engineer boots.

I have put on close to a stone in weight recently and it forced me to break out some older, bigger jeans including a bigger pair of Beatle busters, sized up 666’s and my remaining pair of 634’s. I’m now enjoying the wide leg, especially over my year old pair of big clumpy Wesco Boss.

I’m in the process of losing the weight so I need a «reward» for when I hit my target, and I figure I’ll need a pair of wide legged jeans.

Awesome! I love the 634's for different reasons. I cannot find a waist to thigh ratio that will fit me correctly with the exception of the 888's. I am in the same boat with you. Do to my 32 inch inseam i wish i can have the 634's with an 8.75 inch hem. That will be the perfect pair for me. After i hem them i usually end around 9.5.

I have an even shorter inseam than that so I known exactly what you mean. I may leave this pair a little long and cuff too.

My last pair of 888’s were a little large and they helped convince me that I can do wider legged jeans.

Nice men. I kind got use to the wider hem and start enjoying it. Having said that i am looking hard at the 888 25oz ib. I got pretty much everything but a 25 oz. Question for you. I usually hem around 32 to 32.5. How much should i allow for shrinkage? About an inch? Hem them at 33.5?

They rarely shrink an inch. I’d go for 33”. You’ll end up between 32-32.5”

@neph93 When I first bought my 634S-21 (not L), I was a little irritated by the wide hem as well. However I can now say that after +- three washes, the wide hem tames down. Now it's more round/ has a more fitted look if it makes sense.
