i find that hard to believe. red Wings are notoriously known to be a size big. but i suppose if the socks are that thick… still, something seems off to me.

My 8175 was a size down for me. Spot on, the arcs inside was where it's supposed to be. The rangers I tried on I was 1.5 size down from my sneakers. Weird stuff. I'm just glad I went straight to a redwing store to try as many pairs, different sizes I could.

With my 8130's, I went a half size down, threw in an extra insole, and wore thicker socks than usual, and they fit perfect, if I went true, then it would be too big.

Hope this helps anyone for this specific model.

                    Cris.

Nope - I tend to alway double/triple tie my laces…..habit I learned from my laces untieing frequently during childhood.

skip to ~8 minutes, tie them hard using that method.

Normally people do what is called "postmans knot" but I've used what my grandpa called… "shoelace knot" 🙂
                                  It's exactly this:

                                  Secure knot instructions

                                  I've never had any problems.

you have to go online and scour ebay for this super rare oil called hammerhead liquid. its made of hammerhead shark eyes that have been liquefied and mixed together with whale blubber and a rubber byproduct. when you get it, go to your nearest crafts store and buy the finest brush they have. put about a cup and a half into a glass that you dont mind ruining and put it into the microwave for exactly 34 seconds on high. when it stops, you have 4 minutes to brush the hammerhead liquid onto your shoes. it will give them the most amazing sheen and keep them completely waterproof. i do it about twice a year, but if you want to do it tri-yearly, go for it. when the coat is on them be sure to give the boots plenty of sunlight. got it? ok. …just kidding man, i'm teasing! lol. anyways, what i would do is use the obenaufs that giles sells (available online too) and whenever you finish wearing your boots and before you put them away, just dust them off with the horsehide brush. keeps the leather from getting all spotty from dirt and all whatnot. aside from that, i do condition them maybe twice or three times a year. forgot what the name of what i use is called, but whatevs. just wear them dude, its not like they cant take the abuse. how many contractors and foremen and building workers have time to polish off their workboots?
