yup, well aware - and i think i just said something like that OmegaMan
what I was trying to get my head around was nearly double the price for the same fabric ranges, made by the (same?) local tailors
i do know that alterations (having bought items from both stores previously) are done by the same tailors

so I learned a little more about retail today:
Friday 'technically' not being a working day here in Dubai - I had a few hours free after work, so thought I'd bum them in Dubai Mall . . . which if you like malls is pretty amazing (and if you don't like malls is . . . . pretty amazing)
Anyways, wandered into the Zegna store - I like Zegna for work gear - nice fabrics, cut et al and ended up talking to one of the assistants who told me they are getting more into the bespoke stuff and I could get a suit for around AED12,000 (about 2000 quid) - I listened politely, thanked him and wandered out.
Across the way (no more that 50 paces) I went into the Tom Ford store (for no particular reason) where another keen shop assistant proceeded to to tell me all about the products AND that they were now doing bespoke suiting.
I asked how much and he said approximately AED 20,000 depending on cut etc. I said that's quite expensive and he reassured me saying they only use the best of fabrics by Ermenegildo Zegna . . .
How the f-ck does that work?

Today at lunch I opened a fortune cookie that instead of having a fortune inside just had another fortune cookie baked in, making the whole thing too hard too eat. Pretty disappointing.
