      @DougNg:

Well, another pair of Wave Rider 21s have been shitcanned.
I got all of 200 miles out of them before they were bald and my ankles started to seriously hurt.  😞
      WTF.
Hopefully my Brooks Ghost 11s will last longer.

I started out in the wave riders years ago. They didn't hold up great.

I've run in Brooks glycerins and ghosts for the last 5+ years and had nothing but good luck with them

Hopefully they wil be just what your looking for

I'm a heavier runner and typically buy them at 350ish then switch the pair I was running in as a wearing around pair. But when I retire them they have a lot of life left.

The ghosts have a little less cushion than the glycerins and a little higher drop I believe, but not much difference than that.

My first pair of brooks were the glycerin 6s they are at 17 now[emoji4]

            Thanks!
I've been turning my bald Wave Runners into gardening shoes. I get these rubber "shoelaces" and then they're slip ons.
Hopefully I can get as much life out of the Brooks as you. I've been trying to stretch my shoes out and it's been turning into injuries.

Good to see that area is coming back after the fires a few years ago. Rainshadow running does some totally AMAZING races based in the CRG. Gorges waterfalls 100k/50k is the race. It was always on my list, just never got to it….yet!!

It’s actually really beautiful now with all the big charred trees and the lush undergrowth. It’s gives you such a deeper range of view while still being deep in the forest.. going to try my best to get out there as much as I can this summer!

Not sure I could ever do an ultra but if I ever get into long distances, that race would be first on my list for sure! The waterfalls and valleys in the Gorge are breathtaking!

Edit: here’s a lousy example of what I was trying to explain

Just ticked off another great run in the Mt. Hood National Forest. With a great group of Team IMA5K members. I’m really enjoying the trails rather than the monotony of road running.

@Brock looks beautiful! I agree on trails vs roads. Well, mostly.
Paced my friend Dan at the Bighorn 100 in Wyoming last night overnight for 12 hours and 35 miles. I have never seen or even imagined so much mud in my life. It was a nightmare!

                              Shoes and gaiters after.

Heading out to Ouray tomorrow for another go at the Ouray 100. My finish time last year was just under 46 hours, hoping to go at least a few better than that.

This should put me, bib 65, atop others for your easy of viewing. Note I said should as the trackers didn’t always work so well last year…

Over the last couple of weeks I've seen many people barefoot running during my runs in the park. It actually makes perfect sense and is pretty healthy if one thinks about it. I don't plan the transition in the foreseeable future as I'm already running in minimalistic shoes but has anyone switched to running barefoot and how long did it take to get used to it?

Ive never had it. But I would suggest looking at inserts and see if that helps longer term. Also look up stretches etc on YouTube.

One thing I would consider is trying to find a PT/Chiro that does Graston or ART. I had ITBS pretty bad years ago training for a 100k and thought I’d have to stop running, but actually I could continue to run by getting some Grastion done.

Take a look on google/YouTube and you can get the idea. It’s basically a butter knife tool thing that they rub over the area hard, its pretty intense but works great for me. The first few times I had some EPIC bruising.

I guess the thought Is that bruising increases healing due to higher blood flow. I believe. (Pay attention to how it’s done because I’m sure that over time you could do the process your self, the tools are available on amazon for pretty cheap)

                                          Hope this helps buddy!
