…@Chap yeah but you have great beard. Lucky bugger.

Good point. I didn't think about that.

My sensitivity training from work comes into play and I would never say something like that either joking or serious. I say stuff like that to my uncle who is like my dad. But we tease each other.

Not my idea. It's been in development for awhile.

Mate, you have seen Giles and Chris? They’re as follicly challenged as I am. Although nowhere near as pretty [emoji12]

This is all true. Even the pretty part.

Fun/sad fact: my dad is in his 80s, and despite that and having had chemotherapy, still has more hair than I do.

I dunno guys, being bald isn't a bad thing these days. There isn't as much of a stigma attached to baldness, unless of course, you're doing a bad job at trying to cover it up with a toupee or hair plugs. I think it's worse to be in the balding phase. My forehead is starting to turn into a fivehead  😃

All of this goes for me. Except the bit about a sister. If I had one she would probably have been cold-blooded too.

I know it's old news, but for those who never got into it, Hellboy is excellent. The art is disconcerting at first but after the first few pages it gets absolutely captivating. The stories are engrossing too.

They have adapted the original Alien 3 screenplay into a series of comics. I am going to wait for the serial novel edition. But here are all the covers.

Interesting. I remember seeing the William Gibson version being talked about on the Alien 3 bonus disc. I'm all for Alien expanded universe stuff. Makes me want to seek out some of the older Dark Horse Alien comics that I don't have

on a side note, It'll be interesting to see if the Alien franchise moves forward or if they're DOA because of how poorly Alien Covenant performed.

I think they are going to do another reboot eventually now that Disney has a hand in the pot now. You can't fault the franchise as a whole for a series of horribly written movies. IDK what's up with the executives at Fox but they sure have a penchant for making terrible decisions. The new Predator movie is a good example of this. The original ending would have been so much cooler. Neil Blomkamp's Aliens sequel would have been so much cooler.

The Blomkamp Alien film would've been cool. Judging from the concept art it almost looked like it could've been an Alien version of Jurassic World, except replace Indominus Rex with an alien queen  😃

Agreed. There is no chance whatsoever that Disney will just shrug and write it off as a loss. It will turn a profit on the purchase. And I'm cool with that. I've generally enjoyed the movies (1 and 2 were great, 3 was OK, and 4 was mostly not terrible).

If the studio goes back to the way it was before and bring in new directors that would be great. I think Sir Ridley had his chance and he blew it. I'm still salty about how Prometheus and Covenant turned out. Visually, they're amazing, but the story and characters were truly horrible. Disney made the right choice bringing in different directors for the Star Wars films and they should do the same for the Alien franchise imo.

I thought Rogue One was the best of the bunch as well. I didn't think Solo was completely terrible but it wasn't great either. But, I also believe that Disney's folly was in putting out too much too soon to appease the SW fans. They know SW is a cash cow so they obviously jumped at the opportunity. I don't know that we need to see stand alone films for every character in the franchise either but i'm sure fans are clamoring for it. An Obi Wan solo film would make sense and maybe a Boba Fett movie but i'm not sure a Yoda film would work, unless you want to watch some old Jedi toad living in a mud hut. But expanded universe stuff would definitely be a no brainer

I agree with the comments of Rogue 1. After Rogue 1, the best movies IMHO are Sole, then the Lucas prequels, and then the sequels, which are garbage.

Disney has already easily recouped that four billion, just in movie profits alone.  It was a great buy for them, since they'll be printing money off it for decades, especially when you factor in all the ancillary income. Hell, the theme park income alone probably makes it worthwhile.
