Incredible Restaraunt in Portland Maine. Best lobster roll I’ve ever had. Not
Pictured because my daughter commandeered my phone at that point.
I found an online photo of the lobster roll. This place was on delicious destinations with Andrew Zimmern

Just transferred photos I took on the last day of this year's Wall of Fades event to my PC. Strolling around with my friends who were wearing their 777S and 634SR 🙂

All these are from my Sunday/Funday yesterday. Out in the snow with all my boys (five of them aged 18 months, 3yrs, 11yrs, 15yrs and 16yrs). Then home for the Norwegian xmas speciality «pinnekjøtt».

@gaseousclay the best brand and classic maker of this style of sledge is STIGA, a Swedish company. You can get different versions, styles and colours but this is the classic model: https://www.stigagames.com/games_eu/snowracer-classic-steering-sledge-black-yellow

I had a little look on Amazon USA and you can buy them there but the prices seemed silly (200USD). I can get them here for 500kr. which is about 60USD. If you ever want me to proxy for you I get you a couple and send them out. They really are great fun. The steering works amazingly well, there's a snow brake and they are really robust. Me and a friend have a boys night out once a year on a proper alpine slope late at night with these once all the skiers have gone home.

@Matty123 pinnekjøtt translates roughly as "stick meat". It is lamb cutlets that have been smoked and then salted for a minimum of 6 weeks. You have to soak it for 24-48hrs before you steam it for three hours.

The sticks are birch and it is more a tradition than anything else. You can use a metal grill that fits a cooking pot if you have one. You  fill water to just below the level of the sticks and top it up as you go. Given that the water effectively becomes stock because of all the salt and fat that ends up in it, I'd guess that some flavour from the wood also becomes infused. Either way that's your gravy.

The rest of the meal consists of sausage, a mash of turnips and carrots, pickled cabbage and floury potatoes. Akkevit (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akvavit) and dark beer is the obligatory beverage pairing.

Here's a post from a tour on the same subject from almost exactly two years ago: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=8300.msg480559#msg480559
