on topic: Thanks! I really love these boots. they are WAY more comfortable than the Red Wing boots i've owned. the sorbothane cushion/removable insole combo take em to the next level for sure.

my Thorogoods were just delivered. Got them from Papashoe through Amazon. They wrote very nice value to customs declaration, so I got them without paying extra for customs. Kudos for that.

Thorogoods, 8" Tobacco Brown. I really like the leather and the color of it. These are my first brown boots or shoes in some 25 yrs. I went TTS, 9D. They felt a bit tight at first, but after ½hour they felt very comfy. The insole is awesome. and changing that, if needed, one gets plenty room in the boot. ( me thinks I can forget RW's and mainstream . There are SO nice boots out there with same or better quality and less money
)
Otherwise RBG said about everything in his opening post. Except I like the thick but soft tongue on these.

I have been looking at a pair of these for a while now.
Does anyone know how waterproof the American Heritage Wedge boot is?
Any comparisons against Danner boots?
For reference I currently wear Danner Tinner and Workman GTX boot.
mine are not very waterproof. they are super comfortable and tough though.

How's the sizing for these compared to Red wings Moc Toes? I wear a size US10/UK9 for 8138. Should I go for the same size?
yes. i'm a 9 in RW, 9 in Alden Trubalance, and a 9 in Thorogood. Stick with your same size.
