IHW-01 (Melton Wool shirt)

Yesterday wore my new IHW-01 black for the first time. About two hours in a buddy blasted his cup of hot coffee all over me (on accident), all down the chest and left arm. Shit basically ran right off the shirt, dabbed up the little that remained. The inside of the cuff soaked it up a little and it now faintly smells of flavored coffee but otherwise disaster averted thanks to Iron Heart.

Actually, it turned out well because the coffee would have been big trouble to my Hamilton OCBD that was underneath. Plus, I felt lucky I hadn't worn my flannel, which probably wouldn't have fared as well as the wool.

Got my Black Melton through today. What can I say….incredible...Lando said it was love at first sight for him. Same here. Got the XL originally but it was just too long. Had sized up slightly to layer. Sent it back to SELA who kindly sent me an L. It's perfect. TTS still leaves you the room to layer with a LS tee and hoodie. Looks fitted and smart. Thanks to Casey at SE for his help and patience and to Haraki for producing the good stuff.

been wearing this most of fall and all of winter so far.
if it's freezing cold i can still plop a northface goretex over everything.

I can't figure out whether to get a medium or large. My normal IH shirt size is medium. My Chest measures a little over 39.5. I'm leaning towards a large. 18" shoulders usually fit pretty well.

If you want to layer at all, go large.

agreed, get large

i'm an M or sometimes even S in IH shirts, and I have this in a L, perfect for layering

On the other hand…

I wear a Large in IH shirts, and got a Large in the IHW...I wear it over a tshirt and under my Aero...

But I can only do that when it's biting, awful cold outside (think 20F and windy)

I wear a M in shirts and have a M in the IHW.  The normal flannels fit under it but the heavy ones do not.  The most constricting point is the cuffs.

I definitely will post pics. I probably will just wear it with t shirts underneath. Florida doesn't permit too much layering. I'm not to worried about it being a little big. I kind of want to achieve that look with it.

Best shirt I own. Good choice Cristeza. I went TTS (L) with it. Sized up but it was just too long for me (i'm only 5ft10…1m76). The L is perfect with or without layers. Can even get a hoodie under it and it still looks incredible. Enjoy.

thickness, taken literally, tough to say, probably about the same, but different material of course

but the IHW-01 definitely stiffer, more constricting at the elbows, probably a little warmer (?)

yeah, tried one which belong to a friend. it does fit but damn every time i move my arms, it feels like i'm about to shred the shirt.

found out that my shoulder size is 19 inch, not 18.5 inch.  been measuring it wrongly. amazing how 0.5 - 0.7 inch can make such a huge difference.
