Just now I looked up the number 731 on the internet and what I found shocked me.
    Biological and chemical warfare…
I presume this cap is about something completely different?

      I have asked the Papa….

Signal11. Whilst you’re completely correct, you’re on the wrong side! Your research has led you to the notorious Unit 731 which was the Japanese science experimental group whose action are far too gruesome to discuss in this forum.
The numerals on my 38th Parallel Cap however are based on the 731 Bomb Squadron which was stationed in Korea in 1950 and was inspired by an original vintage cap sent to me by a customer who owns a vintage store. The overall story line references my favourite movie ‘The Bridges of Tokyo Ri’. Have you seen it? It’s a must! Regards always the Papa.

Thank you for explaining Papa Nui! This makes much more sense.
Searching "731 squadron" gives me a complete page of hits on the Japanese horror unit. Searching "731 bomb squadron" on the other hand is something completely different.  🙂

I found the movie you mentioned and I am going watch it soon!

Maybe it’s an idea to add the word "bomb" to the product page description?

Because of the confusion surrounding the 731 bomb squadron and the possibility of it being interpreted as Unit 731, we have decided to stop selling these and will remove this thread shortly…..

I know that it was not John, and we had Googled the same shite before.  I thought again about it this weekend and had a chat with the crew this morning.  I have a mantra here, which is "if you have to ask is this good enough to send out?, then the answer is no".  When I asked the question "should we stop selling this"  at our morning meeting today, the mantra was thrown back at me…..

Radiographers have a similar rule, if you ask the question, 'do I need to repeat this x-ray?'
                    Then yes, you do.
Works very well and has kept me out of the headmasters office.  😉
