In the 38 that Adam sent me when they came out, but looking at the size chart, it looks just about perfect for me.

Besides, they're full-on eighties rock star jeans. They're meant to be tight fitting!

It’s a blessing and a curse…

Blessing that I can squat small mountains

Curse that even relaxed cut jeans are “trim” fitting.

I am exaggerating a bit - 301, 634 and even some 666 cuts work great for me with wonderful mobility - I just “fill out the top block” rather well in the posterior areas [emoji23]

My squat sucks, so I have neither the ability to lift small mountains, nor too much problem with top blocks.

I really like the denim that these are made out of. It's got a little bit of slub, and the bleaching and overdyeing makes it a more interesting fabric. (I got a pair a couple of weeks back, and am tempted to wear them for the DWC.) If you're on the fence, I'd be inclined to get them because they're different.

Graeme, did yours stretch much? The 38 is about as snug as I can go and the 40 defeats the purpose of the “slim fit”

I haven't actually worn mine yet.

I picked them up at the Kanreki, but had been thinking of wearing them for the DWC, so they're hiding in my closet. I could put them on today, and see how they go.

Prior experience with the 14oz implies very little stretch, and being white, a lot of washing - so perhaps the 40 is my right choice, but I don’t really wanna hahaha

I'm wearing my pair in the name of science today!

There seems to be a bit of stretch in the thighs. It feels like they might have given half an inch or so, going from the verge of being too tight to being just tight.

Looking at the measurement chart, the 40s have a bigger thigh, but the knee of the 38s isn't that much smaller. So there might not be a huge amount more room for your quads in the larger size.

In the meantime, here's a shameless gym selfie showing mine off. I'd like to report that they made me irresistible to the fitness Barbies down there, but I noticed no such effect!

Ok @Graeme - I've come back to check out your fit pic 9,000 times and it almost has me convinced they will work for me. Essentially, these are nearly identical to my 8301 measures (when they were new), except about an inch smaller in the thigh. The rise is about the same, the knee is the same, the hem is almost the same, and the inseam is about the same.

Plus, my 8301 have quickly stretched out more than I would have liked, and are actually pretty baggy in the thigh, so perhaps getting  smaller size now will keep a nice slim silhouette even after i wear them a bunch.

My last "theory" im using to convince myself is this…

If my 634s-B have stretched out more than my 634S - perhaps the 14oz Bleached and OD material will stretch out more than the rinsed 14oz. @Giles - would you say this is a safe assessment? After a wash, do you find that your 14oz 666 stretch back out rather quickly?

I can't believe I'm having this hard of a time convincing myself to get a pair of white jeans… white jeans are like "my thing." haha

@Appfaff I've noticed my pair have become a touch looser over the last couple of days, but it's probably no more than half an inch, if that. I'd be inclined to try the 38s, and if they don't work, I'm sure that @Giles will let you exchange them for the 40s. Or order both, and return the ones that don't fit. #wereallenablershere

I'm liking my pair, not sure if the girlfriend appreciates them.

Incidentally, I'm used to indigo crocking on my wallet, but this is the first time I've had white crocking!
