Happy 4th of July to all of those stateside!

Awesome. A move has had me off my game but the resulting back yard will help me make up for lost time.

Nice pic. Found out this weekend that my yard is 80% of a CAO Black.

I'm considering taking up pipe smoking, anyone here tried it? I've seen some very interesting modern pipes (Porsche Design) and a lot of the traditional styles, but no idea of the differences, or where to start. There's also a lot of different pipe-specific tobacco, so any pointers there would be very useful too.

@tmg I have actually. My grandfather gave me a few of his when he saw me eyeing them about 10 years ago. I tried it a bit, but while the actual act of pipe smoking is enjoyable, there are some downsides.
1. You need a lot of accoutrements, pipe, tobacco, ashtray etc.
2. Packing it takes some practice, too tight and it'll keep going out, too loose and it'll burn up too fast and hot.
3. If you've just smoked a pipe you're supposed to let it cool before reloading. Not sure why this is or if it's even true.So for these reasons I find a cigar to be far more convenient.
