I recently got both the black and tan versions; beautiful belts!

As I started wearing them I noticed the buckle wouldn't quite center over the fly…it sits off centered to the right (looking from above). It appears the brass belt loop is spaced too far from the buckle. Once the brass belt loop comes up to the jean's first belt loop, you can't slide it sideways anymore. I haven't taken any pics yet but you can see that this shows up on the upside-down picture posted by Drbabyhorse on the first page of this thread.

I wear IH size 34 and I realize this may not be noticeable in larger sizes (38 or larger), but I assume the problem may be more noticeable with smaller sizes. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

In terms of solutions...I guess repositioning the first stud/screw closer to the belt buckle would solve the problem. Basically punching in two new hole nearer to the buckle. Has anyone tried that? Or do any of you have a better solution?

        The journey is the objective.

I thought about repositioning the stud too but never got around to it. I'm a 36 waist.

Mine sits off centre too.  Just never bothered me.  Your proposed solution could work though….

Still awestruck by my black and tan nubuck's after two months of wear…thanks IH!

I've noticed that the brass loop stands up quite tall when wearing it. It seems as though it is too tall for the cumulative thickness of the 4 layers of leather which go through it. See the picture below. The black belt shows a lot of empty space  while the tan one appears flatter.

The black belt is how I received it from IH, while the tan one went through a minor change. I unscrewed the outermost stud, slid out the brass loop and put it back in UNDER the belt, then tightened the stud once again. Now, the brass loop is positioned a bit lower and looks more balanced IMO. The following picture shows the change in position more clearly.

I found a second benefit to this change…the tip of my belt would creep back towards the buckle and create an unsightly raised loop...with this adjustment that slippage has stopped.

              The journey is the objective.

                          Giles,
You can still do it (regardless of pimpage), but you'll need to loosen both studs to let the loop slide out of the short end of the belt. A bit more work.

Sorry, you are right. My solution won't help your case.

I moved the keeper closer to the buckle, looks and functions better I reckon.

This is my 4 year old black nubuck which looks rather brownish next to my superblack 888S denim. I need to think about a getting a “blacker” black belt, but I don’t like them shiny, much prefer them matte.

The covid 19 lockdown has surprisingly reduced my waistline and I’m down to the belt’s last hole. Not sure I want to shorten it just yet; as I expect I won’t stay for long at this waist size!

Another pic of my “black” nubuck, paired with an indigo 633 this time.

I’m looking for a local metalworker to try to reduce the height on the keeper. As my belt gets older it has begun slipping back from the keeper. I’ll post pics once I get this modifiction done to report on results.
